Yes, ever since that bad tango with the slut.
I think he had to 'recalibrate' with Premiere/Clear Channel, and he hasn't thoroughly processed that yet.
I agree that Mitt needs to get tough.......but the election is 4 months away. In addition, O has been flayling around with amnesty for 1 million illegals, evolving on gay marriage and a big flip flop on tax cuts today. This coupled with the AWFUL economic data (which will get worse towards the end of the year), it has put O in a very bad spot. I think that the internal polling is awful for Obama and Mitt knows it. Yes, Mitt could be more forcible now but its 4 months out and there are times to keep your powder dry and there are times to use it. Obama is on the offensive now which is way too soon. Obama is shooting his wad NOW and that is way too early.
In the primaries, Mitt did this with the other GOP candidates. He did not immediately respond to them in one states primary but he definitely did in the next states primary.
Newt’s fatal flaw to a significant percentage of women is that he cheated on two wives. He never would have overcome that problem, Katie, but he doesn’t lack courage, You may be too young to remember, but Newt and Clinton got too chummy on many occasions, and he sided with the predator-in-chief over conservatives often. My buddy and I used to bitch about Newt all the time at lunch when he was Speaker.
No matter, it’s over, and we must crush the Punk in November. Bob
Limbaugh really nailed it with this piece. For all his incompetence, Obama is very much still in the fight for re-election. It’s insane, but it is the reality of things. Romney simply cannot play the “outlast the competition” game he did in much of the primary season. He’ll lose if he does. I think Romney understands that, but we’ll see.
The squishy moderates recruit another voice to their choir, singing that same old Siren Song of moderation.
Vote McCain!!!!!!!
Rush has finally come around. I could tell, for years, he didn’t quite get the idea that the tipping point had been reached a while back.
He absolutely gets it now. Kids aren’t taught to aspire for self-reliance, they’re taught to “sparkle” in their own brilliant sphere of Self; as though they arrive on a planet that has breathlessly longed to share existence with their awesomeness.
While moms all went off to “fulfilling” work they let hirelings watch over the lambs and flock. We let hirelings teach them falsehoods at school, dismaying us with their stupidity and yet we silently went back to work the next morning to pay for that vacation condo in Vail or Hawaii or Florida.
The State hand that rocked our cradle is now ruling our world.
McCain lost the election in one moment.
When he cancelled his campaign events to rush back to DC to bluster and BS about the financial crisis - about which he knew (and still knows) less than nothing - he was done.
That, coupled with McCain having assembled an idiotic team of Dole retreads... sealed his fate. McCain ran for no other reason than “it was my turn” - something the GOP is famous for.
Media: "Mitt Romney starts aggressively negative campaign. Most negative campaign in decades. Racial undertones."
Book it!
Voting against Romney and for five or six different candidates, all of which were outspent and assaulted with negative ads by the Romney slime machine.
Were you in hibernation when all that was going on?
“Voting against Romney and for five or six different candidates....”
________
Exactly the problem. There was no leadership during the primary, just random ambling. Conservative media figures were all trying so hard not to upset audience share that not one single figure came out for a candidate. I don’t think that I or any other Freeper would have ceded their vote to a media figure, but the discussion could have brought about real debate and a conservative candidate. had just one stepped forward and said, “I back______ because”, then a discussion would have ensued. What happened was mud slinging, lying, attacking each other and the cnaiddate who could afford the most mud and TV ads won.
” Liberal Republicans like George Romney and Nelson Rockefeller.”
Yes, and those liberal Republicans are the very ones that Rush and Hannity are actually gushing over when they brag about the GOP passing the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Goldwater voted against it.
Not that I expect that they know the slightest thing about the nature of the GOP back then. It’s just more of their perennial cheerleading for anything that the GOP has done, ignoring the fact that The Stupid Party has often advanced the interests of the Left. That’s why they are the Stupid Party.
“He doesn’t need a fire-breather, just someone who isn’t ‘moderate’ - and bland ( e.g. Pawlenty). Or Portman.
He will not do that. He handlers won’t let him.
“I hope he has people that will advise him...but from what I’ve seen...they are inept. If he can’t manage his own campaign..”
I SO don’t get it! When he ended up last man standing, I thought well, at least he has an incredibly skilled, efficient and killer campaign, to have knocked all the others out of the race, that will have a fighting chance against BHO.
NOW they have him being Mr. Nice Guy, lame and weak?
There’s such an obvious contrast here that it does make one believe he’s part of a New World Order plan to let BHO win again. (We already know both BHO and Hillary attended the ‘08 Bilderberg conference.)
Even my 93-year-old dad says we have the worst possible candidate (he didn’t like McLame in ‘08 either). It just makes me sick to see all this unfolding. A conservative friend of mine and his dad talk about going to Australia to live because they don’t want to be here when our country goes down the tubes, and because Australia doesn’t worry about political correctness, has tough rules on immigration and values their sovereignty.
