For the first time, federal officials revealed Monday that murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and an elite squad of federal agents first fired bean bags -- not bullets -- at a heavily armed drug cartel crew in the mountains south of Tucson in December 2011.
The announcement came as the Department of Justice unsealed an indictment charging five individuals allegedly involved in Terry's death. A sixth suspect has also been charged in a related incident.
The U.S. is also offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the arrest of four outstanding suspects believed to hiding out in Mexico. The names of the four suspects were revealed, and their pictures released, to the public. Police in the US and in Mexico are cooperating and under intense pressure to find them.

Hey, you guys at Army and Navy Intel- you know... the ones reading our posts. How do feel about being handed bean bag guns hunting bad guys?
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Wonder what they fired second?
The fact that they armed Agent Terry with a beanbag shooter while they supplied the the folks shooting at him with automatic weapons tells me that DOJ murdered him. They let this happen plain and simple. They should be ashamed.
BEAN BAGS????????? OMG!! They need to INDICT the STUPID PERSON that made them use BEAN BAGS to fight the MEANEST SOB’s in Mexico!!!! WHO gave them these Rules of Engagement??? THAT”S who needs to be indicted.
This is a diversion... a finagle... bait and switch.. shell game...
I remember seeing stories that they were armed with bean bags shortly after Brian Terry was killed. I don’t know if it was speculation, or what the source was, but there is nothing new here—except that the Justice Department is now admitting it.
There are people at DOJ who ought to be shot in the gonads repeatedly with bean bags.
Well, I have followed this story and NEVER heard they used BEAN BAGS, and when the rest of America hears that they were made to only use BEAN BAGS going up against the WORST of the WORST DRUG CARTELS, even some of the STUPID people in America will be revolted.
I thought that several suspects were captured at the time of the shooting and all but one were let go. Somebody can dig that info up.
Bean bags.
/roll-eyes
They should’ve had shoulder-fired missiles and RPGs to take out the drug runners.
Close air support might have been even better.
Since there are no borders anymore, nobody’s sovereignty would be violated, right?
BEAN BAGS: The result of a liberal study where inadvertent collateral damage could be minimized if agents used bean bags.
To further reduced collateral damage, I’m sure there’s a government specification on the size, weight and how long to cook the beans prior to use to limit any possible damage.
LIBERAL LOGIC
Border Patrol agents armed with bean bags
Bean bags = ammunition, must be lethal
Ergo, beans must be outlawed
Wait for it
According to Just Us Department sources, the six individuals charged include: Julius No, Auric Goldfinger, Emilio Largo, Francisco Scaramanga, Karl Stromberg, and E.S. Blofeld.
Don’t bring beans to a gun fight.
For a million bucks, we better get some outstanding suspects. We don't want no mediocre bass turds for that kind of money.
we dont have to worry about any more deaths due to bean bags, the BP is now told to run and hide... stupid leadership has permeated our corrupt government
Hey Army and Navy intel... DHS and CIA and other non named entities... we care more about your safety than your CiC does. How do you like your overlord obama these days?
LLS
did D.B. Cooper escape capture again?
This latest story kind of overwhelms the search, but I found a few earlier stories saying that he was armed with beanbag rounds.
Here’s one, from March 2011:
