I loath the way people claiming to speak for parties injured by Nazis attack those who warn us about similar threats. As though comparisons of Homeland Security, TSA and the IRS to Nazi, Soviet and Red Chinese counterparts somehow diminishes the terribleness of the former. It is the understanding of the evil and atrocities of socialist enforcers that brings us to make the comparisons. We ought not play with fire.

NEVER apologize for telling the truth and answer any demand to do so with that very same statement.

"...people have no choice but to buy health insurance or "pay the new Gestapo -- the IRS."

Calling the language of truth "intentionally offensive" should be put to the last survivors of the Gestapo, Hitler's private army made primarily of sadists. Those Progressive bright lights have nothing to offer but juvenile protests when caught in the wrong....again. Democrats? There are no more Democrats....Progressives are all that remain of that party.

List of some of the Democrats who have called Republicans “Nazis” or “fascists”, directly or indirectly.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) - (Who later denied he had called the Republicans ‘Nazis’). (On Obamacare) “They say it’s a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels. The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it – believed it and you have the Holocaust.”

Nancy Pelosi said about health care protesters “They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting...”

Jesse Jackson said, “In South Africa we’d call it apartheid. In Germany we’d call it Fascism. Here we call it Conservatism. These people are attacking the poor!”

2002, Jesse Jackson struck again when he condemned George W. Bush’s political tactics during the 2000 presidential campaign as “Nazi-like”.

George Miller (D-CA) In August 1995, after the passage of Republican legislation, sore loser Democrat George Miller of California compared Republicans to Fascists when he said:

“It’s a glorious day if you’re a Fascist.”

Others who have directly or indirectly called Republicans Nazis or Fascists include:

Jerrold Nadler (D-NY)

In Albany on May 16, 2000, Democratic Party delegates spit at the honor guard made up of Albany State Troopers attending Hillary Clinton’s official acceptance of the Democratic nomination for the Senate held in Albany, calling them “Giuliani’s storm troopers.”

In another one of his anti-George Bush tirades in June 2004, Al Gore accused Republicans of working with “rapid response digital Brownshirts.”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accused Republicans of using Nazi and Fascist tactics during the 2004 presidential campaign.

One of the biggest abusers of the “Republicans are Nazis” comparison is NAACP director Julian Bond. In February 2006, Bond, said that the “Republican flag and the Nazi flag fly side by side.”

This faux outrage from the people that have repeatedly called Republicans “Nazis” for years?

Ha Ha Ha. The governor should hold a press conference and point that out.

Might I suggest the party designation ‘Democrat’ no longer be used here at FR? Let’s call them ‘SOCIALIST’ and not allow them to hide behind a false moniker!

The Gestapo was more brutal, but the IRS is more efficient.

Keep article handy:
"Cain announced she would seek to replace fellow Democrat Elizabeth Schneider in the Maine Senate in 2012. Schneider is unable to run due to term-limits, as Cain is unable to run for the House of Representatives again because of the same limits."

Justin Alford must do the same this November....he and Cain should take this time to learn about the Gestapo and their duties...both these politicians are fairly young...Main should be embarrassed..............

I agree. It's disgraceful to compare the IRS to the Gestapo. However, the Stasi...which combined all the best points of the Gestapo and the KGB...would be a much more appropriate comparison.

The basic Gestapo law passed by the government in 1936 gave the Gestapo carte blanche to operate without judicial oversight. The Gestapo was specifically exempted from responsibility to administrative courts, where citizens normally could sue the state to conform to laws. As early as 1935, however, a Prussian administrative court had ruled that the Gestapo's actions were not subject to judicial review. The SS officer Werner Best, onetime head of legal affairs in the Gestapo, summed up this policy by saying, "As long as the police carries out the will of the leadership, it is acting legally."

the comparison sounds pretty accurate. Why do the 'rats have a problem with it?

The more I hear about/from LePage, the more I like the guy.

Too bad he's not the nominee instead of Romney!

Sounds like a pretty sensible comment to me. I doubt whether the Dems will want to keep publicizing it.
