Well, I voted for Romney in the primaries and, although normally modest, I do not consider myself stupid.

I voted straight Republican ticket but it was in Texas and it was already decided.

When I first looked at the slate the Republicans had I thought it was extraordinarily weak. Rick Perry was the only strong candidate and he was absolutely crucified on this very site.

Bachmann - nice lady but showed her true colors in debates
Cain - nothing whatever to recommend the guy and he had plenty of shady stuff in his past.
Huntsman - why did he run?
Perry - great candidate that nobody liked
Santorum - nobody could stand him and he would have made a horrible candidate.
Newt - loved Newt but he had a loaded gun aimed at his foot at all times.

Romney ended up being the best candidate. Even if it hadn’t been decided by Texas, I think I would have voted for him as the guy most likely to be able to defeat Obama.

And that’s what we need to be concentrating on right now and nothing else.

Because on the single most important, controversial and widely discussed wedge issue of the campaign, he has always agreed exactly with Obama. What an incredible advantage he has...
