Romney Aide to Take On Bigger Role in Campaign (Palin-hater Madden to replace Etch-A-Sketch Eric)
NY Times ^ | 7/6/12 | MICHAEL D. SHEAR

Posted on 07/06/2012 5:17:21 PM PDT by jimbo123

Kevin Madden, a Republican communications expert with long ties to Mitt Romney, will become a more frequent and visible spokesman for the presidential campaign, a source close to the decision said on Friday.

The increased responsibilities for Mr. Madden came in the wake of criticism from nervous Republicans about Mr. Romney’s campaign team. The Wall Street Journal said in an editorial that the campaign “looks confused in addition to being politically dumb.”

You’ve got to be kidding.

Please ping me the next time you see a Romney country thread, I’d love to join it.

How dare you !

Kevin stated a fact and used no profanity or personal abuse.

You sound like somebody who should be sitting on a porch in the backwoods playing a banjo.

We don’t need your kind around here, indeed.

You just wasn’t paying attention then to the 2008 election. Either Romney directed or his aides or both were sabotaging Sarah (anonymous sources spreading lies) and thus help to sabotage the McCain campaign by which contributed in part to Obama getting elected. This was done to position Romney as the next in line and not Sarah, so they had to damage her according to sources at the time.

Madden was pushing the liberal media to look into trumped up TrooperGate charges against Sarah at the convention where we all were suppose to be one big family and put our differences aside

I was paying a little attention but this is all rumor and speculation.

You do not know and cannot prove any of these allegations.

I consider them far fetched indeed.

I was a big fan of Sarah Palin but no more. I still like her but she treated us very poorly during the campaign.

She kept her followers on the hook for way too long before decided to back out.

If she could not take the heat that you claim was directed against her by (you claim) Romney, she’s not the tough woman we all thought her to be.

Personally I don’t believe it and it was 4 years ago so why bring it up now? Unless you can prove sumpin’ to me.

Erick Erickson and Amanda Carpenter BOTH said that they heard directly from Romney people inside the McCain campaign and out spreading information against Sarah and pushing the liberal media to look into things

Get your act together

So, ol'gal, you got somethin' against Republican voting hillbillies?

Maybe we don't need your kind around here either!

Ever think of that?

Look, you believe that .. I consider it insider gossip.

But what does it matter?

If Palin was attacked, she is perfectly capable of defending herself.

She has a podium. She has appearances on Fox News. She speaks at many events.

How can you still be so hung up on Sarah that, after all this time, and after she betrayed her followers by not running after they/we were all sure she would...

Well, there is one person to blame for that Big Tiger, and it’s not Romney, it’s Sarah Palin.

If you are determined to blame someone, blame McCain, he picked her as VP and then failed to defend her.

Everybody knew Sarah wasn't running this year.

As you undoubtedly recall the last time she held elective offices she found out what it means to not be independently wealthy ~ people go after you so you have to hire lawyers and that way they eat out your substance and actually set you up to where you'd have to punish your children to keep going.

Even your boy Mitt could tell you it's great to have the bucks to squarsh your political enemies like bugs.

At least he completed his term as Governor.. So you stuff it..

I'll take a conservative quitter over a hard-working liberal any day. I know if Sarah quit as President, her Veep would still be better than Obamney.

It was not gossip, altura-the-RomneyBOT.
It was covered on FR and elsewhere extensively.

Want proof?

DID Mr. BACKSTABBER RomneyCARE ever speak up for Gov. Palin?
Even once? Did Mr. Backstabber RomneyCARE direct even
one of his surrogates to stop?

Nope.

Sounds like Madden may have had more than a passing interest in the phoney made up ethics charges that were lodged against Sarah... Then, Romney pulls this Mittbot up from the bottom of the barrel for another go at it?

Why wouldn't he? He's clearly proven that he knows how to follow Romney's orders.

Mitt ran the best primary campaign that Wall Street money can buy.

Fixed.

Even if it hadn’t been decided by Texas, I think I would have voted for him as the guy most likely to be able to defeat Obama.

Because on the single most important, controversial and widely discussed wedge issue of the campaign, he has always agreed exactly with Obama. What an incredible advantage he has...

I’ll take “St Sarah” the quitter over the tax and spend, big government, pro abortion, pro homo agenda liberal any day. Because I know that she will do in far more for pro constitution conservatism in two years than the flip flopping, flat out lying, two faced liberal will do in an entire term of office... or even two terms.

All in all, Mitt ran the best primary campaign and I guess he did it with the staff he has.

That is sort of like saying the Yankees make the playoffs almost every year because their general manager does such a great job.

Romney won the nomination for one reason -- $$$$$$$. He outspent his opponents 10 or 20 to 1 in many states, running almost entirely negative ads because his own record was so liberal and a such a failure.

Did you really think many of here wouldn't remember that?

And, if Romney is our only hope, there is no hope. We're destined for a repeat of the Bush Presidency or worse.

Charlie Brown. Lucy. And, the football. All brought to us by idiots that are willing to vote for liberal Republicans that always, without fail, sell conservatives out.

I live in the backcountry. I have a porch. I do occasionally play the banjo...sometimes on my porch.

What "kind" am I?

I don't belong here?

Romney is quickly becoming, as expected, an EPIC FAIL candidate. He is still struggling, despite all of the glaring, massive failures of obama. He is barely keeping his head above water, and only in some polls, not all by any stretch. If obama catches a few breaks, or manufactures a few, Romney is going to lose. I’m trying to be realistic, but I’m not at all hopeful. Romney should be running away with this, and he’s not even competing well. He can’t even keep his story straight on the tax status of obamacare. We are SOOOOO screwed.
