Deval Patrick mentioned as Holder replacement (drip drip drip)

Attorney General Eric Holder’s Fast and Furious guns scandal woes could prove to be a career opportunity for Gov. Deval Patrick, if the nation’s beleaguered top lawman finds himself on the outs, pundits told the Herald.

Patrick was rumored to be one of President Obama’s AG candidates in 2008, but the Milton Democrat had only finished his second year as governor at that point.

Now, Holder is in a showdown with House Republicans — who voted to hold him in contempt last week — and Sen. Scott Brown and others have called for his resignation.

“The chances of a new attorney general in a second Obama administration, if there is one, has increased dramatically,” said Peter Ubertaccio of Stonehill College. “This controversy doesn’t seem to be going away, and there’s traditionally turnover in second terms. ... If the governor is not harboring presidential aspirations, I think he’d be a natural fit for it.”

But Ubertaccio said if Patrick has presidential aspirations, AG would be a bad post — it would prevent him from politicking.

Patrick’s no stranger to the Department of Justice. He served as an assistant attorney general during the Clinton Administration. He’s now a second-term governor in a large state and has been carving a larger political profile for himself as a co-chairman of Obama’s re-election campaign.

“I completely take him at his word that he wants to finish his term,” said Scott Ferson, a Democratic strategist who works for Lt. Gov. Tim Murray’s campaign. “That said, I think it’s very hard to resist a call from the president of the United States that says, ‘I really need you.’ ”

Former Massachusetts Democratic Chairman Phil Johnston said he believes Patrick could be D.C.-bound, but only post-State House.

“I think he’d be a great attorney general, but it’s so important that we have a governor in Massachusetts who serves out his full two terms,” said Johnston. “Retirement as governor is another matter. Obama would still have a couple years left on his second term. I’m sure he would be anxious to recruit Deval in his administration.”

Patrick has insisted he’s going to serve out a full second term and has suggested he’ll return to the private sector after he takes the long walk down the State House steps in January 2015.

Deval will “walk” under inflated basketballs into state prisons so he can sue the states.

Deval Patrick replacing?

Oh, man, there are a whole lot of politically incorrect things I could say right now....but I won’t. I suppose though politically incorrect they would also be sort of obvious observations.....

What would guarantee Obama reelection would be to dump Holder and bring in Miquel Estrada.

Same f'ing thing. Same f'ing crowd. Another Janet Reno disciple.

Patrick is a Holder Clone; a criminal abettor

...Of course, Patrick may simply be trying to cover for his own actions, as he banned localities throughout Massachusetts from participating in Secure Communities. That program reports illegal aliens in local jails to federal authorities for possible deportation

It’s absolutely racist but I’ve come to expect that of this president. He’s such a coward.
