For a number of years, I thought that it was better to remain a member of the UN in order to keep them in check, sort of a “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer,” sort of thing. But that line is wearing thinner and thinner as times go on.

Actual freedom is a very unnatural phenomenon. Most countries in the UN are ruled by dictators, and the majority of the remainder by socialist governments. So why should I want to listen to anything they have to say? (I know. Rhetorical question.)

Freedom/Liberty require WORK. They require constant work and attention to detail. They require a continuous onslaught against ignorance and sloth. They require a tireless minority fighting against every person who wants to just give away his/her freedom to a benevolent dictator or government.

But as more people do that, just kowtowing to dictators (Obama) and revering them as royalty, we are farther away from Liberty than at any time since the turn of the 19th century.
