“Independence Day now seems more a commemoration than a celebration.”
The day may come, perhaps within thirty years, when we see “Independence Day” renamed to something else.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see it renamed to “Equality Day” — no longer celebrating the “independence” of the nation or the individual, but rather the government-forced “equality” of everyone and the equality of all cultures....
That thought has also crossed my mind from time to time . . . oddly enough.
My money is on "Diversity Day." ( ^8 }
