That was just to get people to vote for him. Dems lie all the time. Just like Clintoon who said he wouldn't raise taxes if elected and then instituted a retroactive income tax hike soon after taking office and, for the only time in my many years of filing tax returns, I had to pay in instead of getting a refund, and we were solidly in the middle of the middle-class.

Dems lie all the time. Get used to it. This election year will see the biggest, most brazen lies of all!

Dems lie all the time.
They call it "sales deception", according to this article.

The 1934 Dinner Party That May Have Helped Save Obamacare

Then, as now, there was some sales deception involved. Social Security was sold by FDR as a social insurance program where each employee paid premiums into a personal retirement fund; in truth, it’s financed by a payroll tax and the money collected goes to today’s retirees, not the workers who paid in.

Obamacare was sold as being funded by a “mandate”; in truth, it’s like a cigarette tax, as the chief justice wrote, designed not so much to raise revenue as to change behavior.

Clintoon who said he wouldn't raise taxes if elected and then instituted a retroactive income tax hike soon after taking office and,

and infortunately for those affected, who have gone on to their reward, Clintoon also introduced the income tax on Social Security income, and probably redefined the components of the "Cost of Living" index to exclude food, energy, shelter, medical care --- you know, the basic necessities of life?

Perhaps that one should be changed to the "Cost of taxing" index.
