“Romney sucks. He is not a winner.”

If Romney is one thing, he IS a winner — he turned the Olympics around and turned around many failing businesses.

And we hope he will turn around the current path to decline we are on, as a country.

He’s a loser who can’t even attract the Republican Conservative base of voters.

Well, I know lots of folks in Utah, and they've told me exactly what Romney did vis a vis the Olympics. He came in and glossed over a huge scandal. He's real good at covering up the truth, you see.

But let's look at his track record in campaigns for a minute.

The first time out he lost to Teddy Kennedy, attempting to run against that old socialist warhorse from the Left.

Then he ran for Governor, and won, by being more liberal than the liberal Democrats.

After running the Commonwealth, and his party, into the ground, with gay marriage, and homosexuality in the schools, and liberals on the courts, and banned guns, and socialized medicine, complete with $50 co-pay taxpayer-funded abortions, and higher taxes, he bugged out and started running for President.

*shake the etch-a-sketch*

He lost in his 2008 run for the presidency to that old liberal dinosaur, John Judas McCain, even after expending huge mountains of his own and other people's money.

This time out he bought everybody in the GOP who could be bought. He bludgeoned the competition into the dust using oceans of money from the super pacs. With the help of the GOP-e, he won the primaries, even though vast swaths of the base of the party refused to vote for him.

And now? Even his own supporters can't stand him. They can't defend him, or his record.

I've never seen anything like it, in more than twenty years of activism and campaign work. While I don't make predictions, I find it hard to believe that a candidate could ever expend enough money to buy a general election like this. Without voter intensity, there's no way to get across the finish line. Abject fear can only take them so far.

He is by far the worst candidate the GOP has run for president in my lifetime. The only reason he has any chance whatsoever, no matter how unlikely, is because the Democrats are running the worst incumbent since Jimmy Carter.

The most likely outcome, though? Millions of conservatives leave their principles by the door for Romney, and still lose to Obama, as bad as he is.

Too bad Mittens made Massachusetts fail more.
