This does not make any sense. Roberts would NOT vote this way if there was not some kind of threat.
Why wouldn’t similar threats be made against the others who voted against? Why was Roberts so special?
You put way too much faith in Roberts. He is a pragmatist. This is not his first iffy judgement.
I think he’s been hanging out on the DC cocktail circuit and it’s gone to his head.
