I agree, it’s just unthinkable that this man could have done this. I’m taking it very personally I suppose - but I had a lot of faith that his core values would guide him, and I always thought he was a very conservative man to the core. Seems not so much - to have sided AGAINST Kennedy even - caramba that is just bizarro and I can’t make a lot of sense of it, other than to think that his ego is bigger than his “conservative values”. The whole “I’ll just be an umpire calling balls and strikes thing”... I mean give me a break, that’s the kind of thing you can say to get appointed, but all judicial decisions are affected to some degree by your underlying beliefs, your political philosophy, and your view of federal power vs. states rights.

I think Roberts looked for any way possible to uphold this thing, because he is more concerned with being seen as this “umpire” character than anything else.
