A 4th grader can see that this is not Constitutional.
If the government can do this, what the F can’t it do to us?
The first online source of magnetic “Impeach Roberts” bumper stickers is going to make a lot of money.
And, given that most of the liberal vandals who would key a car carrying an Impeach Obama bumper sticker have probably never heard of John Roberts, maybe they don’t even have to be magnetic signs.
Anyone have an idea how this can be mandated as a tax, and be constitutional with so many specific groups, such as Congress or Illegal Immigrants, Native American tribes, certain Religions.....exempted?
It’s a good day to be a Communist.
The last straw has just been placed on this citizens back.
This is no longer the country of limited government as designed and demanded by the founders.
Secession has to tried again.
We have half the country which wants to live off the other half. Half believes the moral high ground is killing the unborn. Half the country hates the military while claiming to support it. Half the country completely disagrees with the founders brilliance of limited government.
We cannot resolve these differences EVER at the voting booth. Only a divorce between the parasites and the body of producers is a viable solution.
As it stands we are living in the roach motel and the roaches are keeping us hostage
I know Boehner didn’t spike the ball, but did he cry?
If he doesn’t act forcefully today toward this usurpation of freedom, someone needs to make him do much more than cry. Tar and feathers will make you scream.
They ruled that the individual mandate requiring us all to “buy” insurance is unconstitutional...and that should be the end of it. Back to Congress to change, fix it, or shelve the whole thing.
But, no. They then (it sounds like) unilaterally and unconstitutionally took it upon themselves to basically re-write the legislation and call that purchase mandate a tax and then say “now it is ok, proceed.”
How can the US SUPREME COURT WRITE ANY LEGISLATION?
Answer: They can’t. It would be unconstitutional.
The Congress writes laws. So with what the legislation clearly called a mandate to buy ruled unconstititonal, it should go back to congress to alter it into a tax...WHICH WOULD NEVER PASS THE CONGRESS.
I am shocked and severely disappointed in Roberts. They are (if this interpretation is correct) writing legislation from the bench which is not within their power to do.
I guess we’ll see what it all means, but that’s how I am reading it now and it is very disappointing if that is correct.

The lawsuits against this are going to fly by the millions. It won’t be the Catholic Church fighting this alone.
Now it’s everyone!
“The ruling also hands Obama a campaign-season....”
No it doesn’t. Too many folks were/are against Obamacare. I would like to think he will have even less backing.
I expected OB/BS not to lose this one. It was just a gut feeling.
It still makes me very, very sad.
But wait until my hero, Arpaio, and his Cold Case Posse throw their bomb.
Everybody better run for cover.
The fireworks are going to be outstanding!
Looks like my prepping will be going into overdrive. If dear leader gets re-elected, he’ll milk the legal standard this sets so much he’ll make Hitler look like an amateur.
What would Harriet Myers do?
Essentially, did the SC kick this back to Congress?
John Roberts determines that the entire cram down “law” is a TAX which the congress has a right to do, and on that determination alone makes it constitutional?
psss
Ah Gentlemen, before you start calling for a revolution....I will point out that time and time again we’ve seen the Judiciary with the backing of the media do everything to undermine American democracy.
What happens to Mr.Holder will be critically important if the Judicial system is to be put in its. place.
What I find amazing is that Kennedy would have STRUCK THE WHOLE LAW DOWN.
I understand some of Robert’s reasoning based upon reading parts of the opinion. He basically believed it was his role to defer to Congress on this rather than rule against it since he found it reasonable that it was a tax. He said in one part the people are responsible for whom they elect.
I disagree with him completely that the law is a tax, obviously, but let’s not forget this law was uphold on A VERY WEAK, SMALL LINK.
That makes it ripe for Republicans to still claim victory even with this ruling and work to repeal the law.
I suggested to my [pro-Obama] secretary that she start looking for another job, as my business won’t survive Obamacare without some radical cutting back.
The repeal passed in 2011, it'll pass in 2012 and die in Harry Reid's Senate.
I've noticed the Media is misrepresenting the ruling (Fox saying the mandate was upheld, for example) and some people around me are already delirious with excitement for Obama's great victory with no comprehension of the law, the implications or the aftermath since it passed.
Romney's response was not JIP'd on talk radio where I am.
