Its not impossible that its “all of the above”.
The point is, O and Holder had started a drumbeat before this all came out, encouraging the Government of Mexico to file suit in American courts against US gun manufacturers. I remember it, and I was expecting it any day when this story broke and they were forced to back off.
What they did instead, to distract attention from it, was start a big push for new reporting regulations, ignoring the fact that gun dealers had reported this.
As for your point, I’ve seen this before. There was a case a few years ago when a south american general was on trial in his home country for running cocaine into the US. His defense was that he was working with DEA and they had agreed to send a load through so they could follow it and see all the connections.
Sounds like a great idea. They went on to run another dozen loads. So at what point does an investigation become a cover for a smuggling operation.
Stories about Fast and Furious tend to overlook its twin operation running guns into Honduras. Supposedly they were selling them to MS13, which is bad enough, but I have wondered if they were arming Zelaya’s partisans. This all took place about the time they were trying to force him back into power.
I didn't know about this. Do you have a link to a good, complete summary of the above? Thanks, marron.
