History does repeat itself no matter who is involved.

Perhaps, beginning, now, these groups need to be infiltrated with false converts.
The French can have guns. A lot of ‘em are enthusiastic hunters. I think they can even have “evil black guns.” Dunno ‘bout handguns, though.
BFLR
You mean kidnapping and torturing Muslim students to death? Shooting Muslim children in the head? Blowing up Muslim kindergarten schools? Is that what you mean? If not, what then?
Well....even in the old Soviet Union, vetted citizens could own double barrel shotguns and in many European countries, guns can be `owned’ but not kept at home but in hunting club armories. Heck, I have two Husqvarna shotguns from Sweden, where it’s become so difficult to own most firearms that weary citizens are turning them in to the government which then resells them to foreign buyers, lucky me.
Like the French, the Brits, Germans, & Italians can own certain kinds of guns, but no `ugly guns’ and certainly no handguns.
Being permitted the ownership of firearms is not the issue. The issue is the culture and the legal climate which the culture creates. And American culture generally approves of people arming themselves for their own defense, and the laws generally affirm the individual right of self defense including the use of dealy force. “Stand your ground” laws have been made controversial by recent events, but they’re not going away. Concealed carry permits are available in a majority of states.
Not so in the Eurozone, where the use of deadly force in self defense is usually prosecuted and society looks down on gun wielding citizens as dangerous `cowboys’ (a disparaging term over there). They prefer a slavish reliance on police authority.
If muzzies in France had reason to fear that the Jews they were stalking were armed and able to defend themselves, then the situation might at least be no worse there than here.
And to think our country has tacitly supported these thugs for the past 15 years, we still haven’t learned our lessons after 9/11 and after watching Americans being beheaded on the internet.
That is a pity. I always thought the French (at least the rural French) would have what took to save their country. I guess not.
BTW: where do you buy these surrendered weapons? Is there a site? I’m always looking for cool C&R type stuff!
“Following 9/11 the US elected a muslim President.”

And one with a name almost exactly the same as the scum mastermind of the murders themselves.
...still trying to wrap my head around that.....
” Europe is now on the cusp of history , politically, economically and socially. It is about to go down the tubes on the skids of Islamofascism, unless Europeans can overcome their liberal fascism to unite against the menace among them. “
And our SCOTUS didn’t uphold SB1070, in AZ, so we aren’t far behind.
Isn’t this Islam pretty much everywhere?
If MSM ever reported it, wouldn’t we be reading such things in North America? —
“Nobody dares to say that dozens of young French Muslims go every year to jihadi training camps and follow exactly the same course as Mohamed Merah. How many of them are likely to act at one time or another?
“Nobody dares to say that more than thirty mosques all over the country broadcast incendiary remarks which, according to Boubakeur, have « nothing to do with the teachings of Islam, » and that the same remarks are received daily on television by tens of thousands of Muslims in France through the Arabic version of Al Jazeera. How many Muslims are being indoctrinated with the same ideas as Mohamed Merah and will start to share his hatred of Jews and the West ?”
For Swedish hunting guns, go to gunbroker.com and put in keyword “Husqvarna”. There are usually shotguns, revolvers & a few rifles. Might keyword “Swedish Mauser” for military rifles.
Lots of neat stuff on gunbroker.com. FWIW, I bought these shotguns from a retired Navy chief who traveled to Sweden a lot. Said the only way to hunt there was join a govt run hunting club and rent a govt owned hunting gun. Guns at home are verboten now. Mustn’t upset the Muslims.
Sounds like fun! Thank you!
Every German hunter I know owns at least one handgun - it's required for the coup de grace and self-protection (if necessary). Also, many sports shooters own handguns. Carrying in public is very, very limited, though.
Take a virtual tour of an indoor shooting range and gun shop in Ulm:
It's open to the public; you can even rent a gun and blast away to your heart's content. :-)
I was stationed in Germany in the early 1980’s and remember the requirements to obtain a Jagdschein or Waffenschein - very difficult. US personnel were exempt from FRG weapons laws & registered their guns with the provost marshal. No longer the case. Last I heard in the Army was if you had orders for Germany to just leave your guns at home.
It’s still true that the 2nd Amendment posits an entirely different relationship between US citizens & government than anywhere else, Switzerland excepted. Burden of proof for denying the right to bear arms is on the government here. I used to read DWJ & other German gun magazines. There was a column called “Ihr gutes Recht” but reading it sounded like gun rights advocates in Germany were fighting a losing battle.
I do remember visiting the Frankonia-Jagd store in Darmstadt & the main store in Wurzburg. Lots of neat stuff.
--Israel wil not be the first to introduce the use of nuclear weapons in the Mideast. But in the event of another Holocaust, Israel will pull down the pliiars of the Temple of Humanity.
--Israeli nuclear policy, as described by author Sy Hersh, The Samson Option. See also Project Daniel.
But why would the Israelis pursue such a policy?
Shortly after the 1967 Six-Day War, the Soviets placed a Echo-II class submarine [K-172] equipped with nuclear-armed *Sunburn* cruise missiles -variously reported as from three to eight- within range of Israel, with orders to launch in the event of an Israeli atrtack on Damascus. The Russian sub successfully evaded the US Sixth Fleet forces in the area and SOSUS sub detection net and reached its launch position, awaiting the launch signal being monitored by the USS Liberty sunk by the Israelis, who were in communication with President Johnson, who shortly thereafter declined to run for a a second term as president.
And here we are there again....
Mr. Offley also discovered another disturbing item during his interviews with former Soviet Navy officials. During the Six Day War, the Soviet command had dispatched an Echo-II class nuclear sub (K-172) to the Mediterranean. The K-172 commander, Captain Nikolai Shashkov, described his orders as "to be ready to make a rocket strike on the coast of Israel." K-172 was armed with eight SS-N-3 Shaddock cruise missiles each armed with a 300-kiloton nuclear warhead. Upon receipt of a coded signal from Soviet Navy headquarters in Moscow, Shashkov was to surface the K-172 and and fire his eight missiles at Israel. The trigger point, Shashkov explained, was if Israel or its Western allies invaded Syria. In the end, the fatal order never arrived and K-172 ended its patrol and headed home. Captain Shashkov has testified that to his amazement upon returning to port, Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev was on the docking pier to greet the K-172.
