I ready a article a couple years ago where it was explained that the 2nd amendment right to bear arms wasn't limited to firearms alone. At the time the amendment was written, “arms” referred to anything a person might take into battle should the need arise, including swords, bayonets, armor, even cannons. The point of the article was that, not only should the 2nd amendment protect the rights of gun owners. It should protect the rights to own any weapon or armor an individual could conceivably use for personal defense. Such as body armor, knives, bows, etc.

You should try to take a chef's knife case across an international border as checked luggage. Sheesh.

My knife case has about $600 worth of very sharp, very good knives in it. Including a couple of custom Japanese blades. They range from a 12" carver to a 2" paring knife.

I always got pulled out of line by Customs in every country, including the USA to waste an hour or 2.

I don't travel anymore.
