Fascism was the big winner in WWII. The USA today is very much a fascist country. Europe is more fascist than it is socialist.
Both Fascism and Socialism are left wing ideologies; they are forms of Collectivism, where groups matter and individuals do not. Under socialism, the government owns the means of production -- Europe tried that but largely gave up on it. Fascism is when private interests own the means of production, but government controls the means of production. That is what you see today all across the world.
Fascism is here. The task at hand is to get a lot less of it.
