There’s a fire in the direction of the Lake George area (probably a little south of there and further to the east now) starting to look nearly like a Hayman event: huge, but not quite that large, yet. So maybe the Lake George fire isn’t out after all. It’s blowing pretty hard (40 mph wind or so, off and on, and dry). Far from here but very visible. I reckon the Teller County basin will be choking on smoke tonight.
They’re calling it the “Springer fire” while claiming it’s a different one. “New fire...” Uhuh. Yeah. Sure.
