Obama Listens to Rich Liberals, at His Own Peril

Al Franken stole the Senate seat in Minnesota, and they flipped Arlen Specter. Viola, they didn't need the GOP's help in the Senate! If only independents could be made aware and persuaded.

Norman Ornstein has become an idiot! He should move from the American Enterprise Institute to Brookings!

Instead, his White House adopted a thoroughly passive nature when it came to bipartisanship, and legislative craftsmanship in general.

That is way off the mark. There has been nothing "passive" about the way this President has treated the Republicans, and the Red States as well. He (with Pelosi) trashed the GOPs' characters when ramming though ObamaCare. He refuses aid to states that have had natural disasters, if they had voted against him in '08. Oklahoma comes to mind.

[I]n the decades after World War II there was a general consensus that the market couldn't solve all of our problems on its own; that we needed certain investments to give hard-working Americans skills they needed...

The First Racist is now writing his own history?

No such consensus existed, and the name changed from "welfare" to "investment" LONG after the attempt began.

By any other name it has been a total dismal failure, and considered an investment only among the mentally challenged (i.e. mental institutions, D.C.)

If 60 years is not long enough to establish failure beyond a doubt, reasonable or otherwise, what is?

Reagan had a weekly meeting with Tip O’Neill. That’s a big part of why Reagan got some things done with a Democrat House.

By contrast, the whole idea of sitting down with the party opposite frightens Mr. O-blame-o. He seems incapable of an open discussion with people he disagrees with.

That sort of thing wasn’t in Mr. Alinsky’s textbook.

The MSM defines “compromise” as conservative surrender on everything all the time.

Heck, if Obama couldn’t get Maine’s 2 RINO Senators to vote for “Obamacare,” then you KNOW that it was a partisan cow pie.

What amazes me is the naivete of Republican moderates, like McCain. It’s like they are stuck in the 90s when the Democrats weren’t taken over by the far, far, anti-American left. McCain apparently really did believe Obama was a moderate centrist. Laughable!

You can’t compromise with people who want to control ever aspect of life, what we eat or drink, what we drive, what kind of health care we receive, the amount of energy we use, etc., so that they can save the planet, enforce equality (of outcomes), and ensure America no longer uses more than its fair share.

The modern Democrat combines fascist, Marxist, and socialist ideologies — none of which are remotely compatible with American concepts of liberty, the rule of law, and individualism. The country is literally hanging in the balance here, and John McCain wants to to compromise with those who are ruining it!?! Geesh!
