Salafist Organization Banned in Germany

Major Police Raids Salafist Organization Banned in Germany

Some 1,000 German police in seven states raided facilities belonging to ultra-conservative Salafist organizations on Thursday, as the Interior Ministry announced that one such group has been banned. Authorities are concerned about the growing numbers of violence-prone Salafists in the country.

For weeks, German officials have focused a significant amount of attention on the country's Salafists, members of a fundamentalist strain of Islam who are suspected of having close ties to Islamist extremists. On Thursday, they made their move, raiding Salafist facilities in seven German states and banning one of the most important Salafist groups in the country, the Millatu Ibrahim.

"The organization acts in opposition to the idea of constitutional order and multicultural understanding," German Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich said on Thursday morning. He added that the group promotes violence in its "fight against existing constitutional order."

In addition, Friedrich say that two other Salafist groups have now been placed under investigation in the hopes of finding enough evidence to be able to ban them as well. Some 1,000 police officers took part in the early morning raids.

German authorities estimate that some 4,000 people belong to Salafist groups in the country, and it is the fastest growing strain of Islam in the country. Salafists are considered by the German government to be particularly dangerous and prone to violence, primarily because of their single-minded goal of establishing Sharia in Germany and their rejection of Western values. Furthermore, authorities believe that Salafist groups have close ties to jihadist fighters in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

I`ve long believed you can only get away with pushing the Germans so far... the muzzies are going to learn when die Deutschen push back, they push back hard. Post-WWII or not, the Germans are still an intensely proud people.

I don't think the "banned" Salafists/Muslims/Terrorists will take this quietly.

Which is good. Let them rant and rave. Sooner or later, they'll all have to be deported back to their third-world hell-homes. Or wiped out in a civil war.

(Old image, but the point is still valid.)

This is more than fascinating. This is essential to the survival of the West.

The German Government is publicly acknowledging that Islam is an existential threat to the legal and structural underpinning of the State.

And formally turning their previous ideological vulnerability of multiculturalism into a weapon to attack the invaders.

I suspect it is forgotten that Germans love their Fatherland, and that Clausewitz was a German. Perhaps this will trigger Islamic retaliation. One may be optimistic that a chain reaction, beneficial to the West, is seeding infectiously throughout the front.

...ultra-conservative Salafist...

Yeah, right. The libtards claim Hitler was a "right winger" also.

Technically, salafism IS conservatism in Arab/moslem terms. They’re all for conserving Islam as it was originally conceived the 6th century, removed from any hints of subsequent progressive thought or interpretation since the death of the child molesting bandit chieftain who founded it...

Sharky, the word “conservative” is a relative term. In the communist USSR, a “staunch conservative” was a flaming Marxist!

The article does make it clear the term is referring to islam; not those holding traditional Western values.

Several weeks ago, about 20 German policemen were injured (some badly by being stabbed) trying to separate Salafists from an anti-Moslem group displaying the Danish cartoons. There was an interesting comment on a German police site (www.copzone.de) by a very annoyed German cop who was involved. He claimed that the German media tried to soft-pedal the incident by saying some people were hurt by things being thrown.

Of course, banning the Salafist organization is not going to do much good, unless they deport the members.

US Supreme Court won’t hear Fort Dix plot appeal
Posted: Jun 13, 2012 3:28 PM CDT Updated: Jun 13, 2012 3:28 PM CDT

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - The U.S. Supreme Court won’t hear an appeal filed by five Muslims convicted of planning to attack New Jersey’s Fort Dix or other military bases.

The decision was disclosed Wednesday by defense attorney Richard Sparaco. No reason was given.

Mohamad Shnewer, Serdar Tatar (sur-DAR’ tah-TAR’) and brothers Dritan, Eljvir and Shain Duka were arrested in May 2007. A federal jury in Camden the next year convicted them of conspiring to kill U.S. military personnel at Fort Dix, 15 miles southeast of Trenton. A judge cited what he called their radical Islamist ideology.

The men are immigrants who grew up in the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia. Four are serving life terms.

Defense lawyers had questioned prosecutors’ use of wiretaps obtained under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, claiming it was unconstitutional to use them in a domestic criminal case.
