Gotta *love* this: **The dispute between town administrators and the union centered on a policy that gave officers triple-time compensation for working on a holiday. For holiday work, officers receive eight hours of pay at the normal rate, a paid day off for the holiday and a paid day off for working on the holiday.**
Besides the holiday benefit, officers' time off includes annual vacations ranging from 10 to 25 days, 15 sick days a year and one day off for every 90 days of perfect attendance. Union representatives say their stance on keeping the policy was not about money, but rather about time off that officers need as respite from a stressful, often dangerous job.
I was talking to a cop effected by this: His reply, "So what? I live in this town and I pay taxes too."
From my life experience, a teacher working in an inner-city school is in far more danger and stress than a cop.
Across the board, *all* union contracts are killing every budget. Cops are padding their retirement packages with OT. Cops' bennies of food, clothing allowances; personal use of a cruiser on which they do *not* pay for gas, taxes, registration fees, maintenance.
Come on. Pay attention.

The only thing I agree with union teachers is that education is important but nobody dares ask “what education”. Decades of FORCED liberal education creates the mess. You cannot begin to fix it if millions of kids every year leave school thinking government is the answer yet that is exactly what we are allowing to happen in the public school system.
Only with decades of indoctrination at the K-12 grade level by union teachers in Public schools have we come to the point where so many weird things are considered normal and main stream. Kids leave high school without a sound knowledge of the brilliance of the founders and the owners manual for our Constitution known as the Federalist Papers. Without such knowledge, liberal ideals are much easier to instill in a formative brain.
You may think a teacher in an inner city environment is in danger but the real danger is union scum teaching MILLIONs of children that the private sector is evil, only government can take care of them from cradle to grave. They are creating the next generation of Marxist communists hiding behind the Progressive label. The danger is then to 350+ million citizens not a few individuals in the inner city.
The brainwashing continues into our universities jam packed with communist professors (the result of the public school system).
Then some of those brainwashed brains of mush go into journalism and create a MSM that gives cover to Progressives at every level.
Pay attention and grasp this point otherwise MILLIONS more will go through this indoctrination and we will, in the very near future, never again see the political pendulum swing to the right.
Examples of the danger of liberal public education are found everywhere, everyday. You would not have a Rep. Pete Stark (d) who openly said the Federal Government can do anything it wants. You would not have legions of lawyers who actually think the founders intended to modify the constitution via case law. Only years of communist indoctrination can account for such stupidity. If the founders had wanted case law to be the mechanism then they would not have wasted the time detailing the Amendment process. See how important PROPER education is?
Ever try to speak logically to a liberal? It is impossible, as thanks to years of liberal indoctrination, their brain actually functions on a dysfunctional level incapable of assimilating new ideas if they are in conflict with the liberal mantra.
