Wallace seems in shock as he continuously accuses Daniels of “going after” the poor suffering union thug workers.

But but but...don’t unions have a purpose, preventing government from “running roughshod” over them?

Yeah Wallace is outraged that Indiana is forcing state workers to take pay cuts. He is still hurting over the Walker loss.

I watched the Daniels interview again and I may have been too hard on him because of his unfortunate attire and his very low-key delivery.

He did have all the facts and right on his side. Wallace kept trying to bully him with some statistic about Indiana ranking 47th in something but Daniels didn’t bite on that. He just said he didn’t know anything about it.

Now that people are in more dire straits themselves, they are finally paying attention to things they formerly didn’t bother with.

We are realizing that there is no government money. None. All government money comes from us. We are paying for all federal employees and on the state level, as Mitch pointed out, it was the pages and pages of regulations negotiated by the unions that kept the state government from doing things it needed to do.

They also tried to equate Daniels signing the right-to-work law with public unions.

This action, as he pointed out, was necessary to attract business to his state. Business is leery of going to a state without right-to-work laws.

That simply means that workers have a choice about joining a union or not when going to work in a unionized facility.

Prior to that law, they had to join the union. Hard to justify that as being fair.

If Mitch Daniels WAS doing a veep audition, he kinda failed that part because when Wallace brought up Romney and said something like, “Romney needs to run on a program better than just Not Obama,” Mitch lost an opportunity.

He agreed with that statement, and left it there. I think he should and could have said Romney is running on a program far beyond the Not Obama and then listed the things Romney has proposed.

I know Scott Walker is going to be on a show later but I may have missed it. He has to be feeling pretty good.
