Florida election official to Rev. Al: We won't let Gov. Scott purge our voters!
pMSNBC ^ | Jun 6, 2012 | Aliyah Shahid

Florida announced Wednesday afternoon it would ignore the Department of Justice's demands to stop its controversial voter purge, but a state election supervisor threw another twist into the story, telling MSNBC's Al Sharpton soon afterwards that he and his colleagues won't play along.

Ion Sancho, Leon County's supervisor of elections, told the PoliticsNation host that Republican Gov. Rick Scott can "do all he wants of this partisan endeavor" but that Sancho would not participate in a process he sees as illegal, adding that he spoke for a good number of his fellow supervisors.

The majority of us "will not conduct any illegal activity," Sancho told Sharpton. "We're going to ensure our voters are protected."

Sancho said that the purge would not be successfully executed without the cooperation of supervisors like himself.

"We are the hands, legs, head, feet and eyes of this process," said Sancho. "...I was independently elected by the voters of my county and I work for them."

He's not appointed by the governor, he's an elected official,

Just checked, and it looks like he ran unoppossed in 2004 (link) and 2008 (link).

Technically he was "elected", but with no one else on the ballot the last 8 years he won by default. He's up for re-election this year.

To the outright Communists that infest Marxist Socialist News By Communists (M.S.N.B.C.), this is NOT controversial, unless to you communist bastards, stopping fraud is a controversy.

Gah.

Leon County is the county that Tallahassee, our capitol is located in
94 thousand Democrats registered

It seems that the liberals have overrun the Florida capitol and have become entrenched in government bureaucracy.

Work from within the system to change it was the recommendation/tactic, wasn't it?

The answer is simple - increase to penalties for vote fraud until no one would think of perpetrating it. (Bring back the chain gangs for those who would disenfranchise others through vote fraud!)

My thoughts exactly, although if it’s an elected position I don’t know if he can do that. Maybe somebody would have to sue those particular “supervisors” on Equal Protection violations...

It took a hurricane to wash NO clean.

Pray. It's our only hope.

Looks like Scott can do something about him:

Miriam Oliphant was the Supervisor of Elections [1] for Broward County, Florida, from January 2001, when she was elected to that position by over 65% of the vote, to November 2003 when she was suspended by Governor Jeb Bush for "...grave neglect, mismanagement and incompetence." (link)

The purging of voters in Florida will have to be a surgical endeavor as to not purge the votes of conservative Cubans in Miami Dade and not purge to votes of conservatives in the Florida panhandle.

Nope. The attitude should be, "If yer illegally voting, yer done. We don't care WHAT side yer on."

It seems that most state capitols are liberal Mecca’s. I’m not surprise a bit by this liberal tool in Leon County.

Scott's swift and certain reply should be, "You're fired."

My first thought, too... but can he do that?

Maybe not but I bet he can have them arrested for obstructing justice or some other charge. Governor is carrying out his sworn duty to uphold the constitution and to interfere with it is illegal.

Very telling, isn't it.
People tend to live close to where they work and if you work in government, well...you're more likely to be a liberal.

Some people just don't think about it and some things have to be pointed out.

And what will the others be doing. Thanks for telling us which county's rolls to check out.

From this past February:

Protesters marched alongside FAMU students, legislators and members of the NAACP this morning in defense of their voting rights.

The 10th Annual State of Black Florida Conference continued earlier today with several morning events designed to arm the black community with political knowledge.

The group of a little more than 100 people marched from the Leon County Civic Center to Waller Park at the Capitol – the area between the Supreme Court and the back steps of the Capitol – and held a rally to protest against laws they said hindered their voting rights.

Leon County Supervisor of Elections Ion Sancho said the laws Gov. Rick Scott signed into effect last session are meant to confuse and frustrate voters to keep them away from the polls.

Going by the photos on this thread along with statements out of his own mouth (there are vids on Youtube also), he's involved in official misconduct. He's should be an impartial official, but he's obviously a militant activist using his office to further an adversarial agenda by corrupting the voting process in his jurisdiction. Another radical who needs the boot, right now.

I don't think Ion Sancho DOES speak for "a majority" of his fellow supervisors. Leon County is probably the most liberal country north of South Florida in the state. Monroe, Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach make up the unholy Quad of Liberalism in South Florida, and Leon County (home of Tallahassee) is where Sancho the punk resides.

Time for Governor Scott to appoint a special taskmaster over Sancho the Punk, to make certain the will of the people of Florida is obeyed.

This socialist democratic fraud works for the State of Florida not the obama regime. If he doesn’t follow an order from the Governor to abide by Florida’s wishes I would have his sorry rear end arrested and then can him. Enough with the pussy footing around.
