About 8 years ago, the city of Waco, Texas took some of the dairymen of (mainly)Erath and other counties to court, saying their dairies were causing the city's water to taste bad because the runoff contributed to the algae bloom. Many of our dairies moved away because of this. Problem is, Waco has had $hitty-tasting water since anyone can remember. And Erath county is over 70 miles away from Waco. But neither of those facts deterred the political aspirations of those running on this as an issue. The ever-hateful Molly Ivins even wrote an article about it for Time magazine.
