I think the reception after one of these “weddings” would be a surreal blast. Photos of the bride — no — groom — okay, how about “broom”? — having a first dance with his/her new “wusband” or “hife”. Another of he broom feeding himself/herself a piece of cake. Another of one solitary hand with a wedding band. The broom tossing a bouquet and a garter to the crowd of unattached guests. One tradition that might go by the wayside is when everyone taps their water glasses with a spoon to induce a kiss. I guess the broom could use a mirror, though, like a real narcissist.
I confidently predict the ‘spoon striking a glass’ tradition will be replaced by a spoon striking a shallow, black saucer with water in it. Such a bowl can be used as a mirror - the perfect symbol for marriage of a narcissist/”self-abuser”.
