Here is hoping all polish radio towers are safe
The chart clearly shows increases in government spending are associated with fewer jobs, not more. The data for the past hundred years shows the same negative relationship between the growth in government and the number of jobs. It is no coincidence that European and other countries with larger governments almost always have lower labor-force participation rates.
Aaahhh. Just like the good old days of the 1920s.
Let the leftist scum wipe each other out.
Although our modern socialists' promise of greater freedom is genuine and sincere, in recent years observer after observer has been impressed by the unforeseen consequences of socialism, the extraordinary similarity in many respects of the conditions under "communism" and "fascism." As the writer Peter Drucker expressed it in 1939, "the complete collapse of the belief in the attainability of freedom and equality through Marxism has forced Russia to travel the same road toward a totalitarian society of un-freedom and inequality which Germany has been following. Not that communism and fascism are essentially the same. Fascism is the stage reached after communism has proved an illusion, and it has proved as much an illusion in Russia as in pre-Hitler Germany."
No less significant is the intellectual outlook of the rank and file in the communist and fascist movements in Germany before 1933. The relative ease with which a young communist could be converted into a Nazi or vice versa was well known, best of all to the propagandists of the two parties. The communists and Nazis clashed more frequently with each other than with other parties simply because they competed for the same type of mind and reserved for each other the hatred of the heretic. Their practice showed how closely they are related. To both, the real enemy, the man with whom they had nothing in common, was the liberal of the old type. While to the Nazi the communist and to the communist the Nazi, and to both the socialist, are potential recruits made of the right timber, they both know that there can be no compromise between them and those who really believe in individual freedom.-- F.A. Hayek, The Road to Serfdom
Precisely. See quote in my post above.
The Western Left has been running the Big Lie that the Nazis were “of the Right” since WWII in an effort to hide the fact that their positions on most issues are so similar. Actually reading the NSDAP platform of 1933, among other source documents, shows this clearly. Unfortunately The Western Left has largely been running education the whole time, so this Big Lie has been very successful, as very few people actually read source documents and think on their own any more.
Sorry, correction, it was 1920, not 1933.

That was because even the most thick-headed commissar understood the value of patriotism in repelling an invader. When Stalin saw the way the Wehrmacht was (initially) received in the Ukraine he understood.
Lefties taking on lefties. How delicious!!!
I'm suuuure this is only an oversight.
For clarity, the fascists held that you can own property but the government can tell you what to do with it, particularly if it is a business. The communists held that all property and businesses are the governments property.
The Nazis are overtly nationalistic and racist.
The Communists are closet racists and nationalists.
The fascists were nationalists (loyal to home country) and the communists were internationalists (loyal to USSR). To the rank and file it looked the same.
Germany of the 1920's was all in for socialism, it just had not decided which brand of socialism it was going to have.
Brilliant. I have made this point by having a tagline that read "neo-communist = neo-fascist". It is basically the same thing.
Hayek nailed it 50-60 years ago. On this and many other points.
AFP sounds ill informed. Or, more likely is twisting the facts to suit their agenda.
The only clashing that occured was when the “antifascists” started torching cars and throwing rocks and bottles at the police (just their usual MO...) and the police lamely tried to contain their rioting.
The Neo-Nazis did their little march and that was that.
And that is they way it almost always happens. The two extremist groups are kept far enough apart that they cannot clash with each other. So the “antifascists” throw their little temper tantrum and...see above.
Thanks, Conspirator.
That does add an important dose of clarity.
Thanks JerseyanExile.
Ding ding ding we have a winner ladies & gentlemen. You get a pat on the back & a attaboy as your prize for figuring out exactly what the brawls are about.
The only plausible reason for conflict is a dispute about who gets to run the government and distribute the goodies control the masses with unlimited power.
