Police say a person called 911 that a man had jumped off the Pflugerville Pedestrian Bridge, swam to the south shore and then took his clothes off. Police responded and met the caller, who said the man seemed under the influence of drugs and was verbally abusive towards him and others on the hike and bike trail before running east, wearing only his red boxer shorts.
He was found by police at Auditorium Shores next to South First Street. The Affidavit says Leask tried to speak to the officers but wasnt making any sense, saying that he was god and he just wanted to die.

Bath salts? Bath salts???????
Yes, and pot isn't always a vessel that holds water. |
The *new designer drug* , apparently.
What do you expect from a city who’s motto is:
Keep Austin Weird
At least the guy didn’t go for the medic’s face.
Yeah, things are getting pretty weird over here. There have been a few murders by people under the influence of drugs made from bath salts, and people are calling them “zombie killings” because of the way the perpetrators act.
A bit naive here but like real bath salts or some compound called bath salts ....
Then when the police taser someone like this and the person dies they blame the taser.
>>Bath salts? Bath salts???????
It’s basically because the illicit material is “not for human consumption” which all these illicit drug producers use to get around government classification as Class I.
These bath salts are basically like cocaine, meth, and PCP combined. They also are short length with extreme depression on comedown, so the user redoses more and more and eventually, after to succumbing to raging paranoia, attacks someone.
You want to know how bad this stuff is? I had a criminal defendant who was a meth head tell me that he tried that stuff, but quit because that stuff is messed up.
It’s a street name for an illegal drug.
Pretty bad if it’s worse than meth.
Very interesting read. Thanks.
Ahhh, thanks for the education. I thought it was something newly-concocted, not 80yrs old. Wowzer. I don’t remember the name, Mephedrone, in that article about the Miami ‘face-eater’. I must have missed it, somehow.
Craziman put up a link to the drug. Very interesting read.
Maybe he wasn't hungry at that time.
Same drug suspected in this awful case that happened Memorial Day weekend in Miami Beach:

This monster, high on something, ATE the face off a homeless man. The monster was shot 6 times by police - he seemed oblivious to his gunshot wounds.
It wasn’t. Nearly every article ever printed about the substance refuses to include its proper name. Its rather odd, really. I had to research this.
