In a free society, lower taxes result in more saving and is the first step in the process of increasing capital accumulation. When the rich get richer and the capitalists accumulate capital, the natural result is greater economic progress and a higher average standard of living for wage earners. In those conditions, there is no such thing as redistributing income upwards. That is just another libtard lie.
Ever since the War on Poverty began, and the poverty level became a living, breathing demographic, the percentage of households beneath the poverty line has undergone shrinkage only TWICE!
The first time was after the Reagan tax cuts. The second time was after the Bush tax cuts.
Want to ameliorate the lives of those living in poverty -- CUT TAXES!!!
Y'know, you can show this correlation to liberals...and they simply will not believe it. They'll claim that you've fudged the numbers somehow.
But it's the truth...
Reduction of taxes is not redistribution in any direction. It is allowing people to keep their own wealth. You cannot redistribute upwards from a group that pays NO taxes. Krugman is mad man.
