The depth of corruption & blackmail has made it a cesspool of co-conspiritors. There have been many good people who go to congress and become entraped in the physical goodies thrown at them daily.
One of my best friends was entrapped by a woman seemingly innocent and physicaly perfect. In the end he found out she was just an escort and he was just a client.
He was single by the way but thought he’d found “the one”. She was stunning to behold but she used herself to end his career. Rising star along the likes of Paul Ryan and Scott Walker. Just a lonely man unaware of how low the left will stoop to destroy people.
As a married man and father of 5 my prayers were that he would wake up. Didn’t happen.

IMHO....that story is what happens to a lot of well-meaning potential Constitutional legislators in DC.
The perks and “ goodies” trap them into a videotaped compromise somewhere...and within 90-180d they are “owned”....
Once you falter, they've got you. A little blackmail here, a few kickbacks there and you're one of them for life.
