Color me surprised. / not
With “friends” like these, who needs enemies?
But you evidently aren't really interested in revenue, but in control, just like your Democrat brethren.
It’s too simple for da Booshes.
Cut taxes = revenue up. A rising tide lifts all boats.
Who’s Jeb Bush, anyway?
Everyone knows the “spending cuts” would be fake. Starting 10 years in the future, based on reductions to scheduled increases, etc.
A has-been before he ever was.
The entire Bush family can’t be trusted. Bush Senior, George Bush and now Jeb Bush.
Jeb Bush’s time is over - he could win a Senate seat, I’m sure, but I don’t see him making any such move.
Shame - I voted for him twice & he was a fairly good governor, infinitely better than the liberal trash here that rises to the top of the pond scum from time to time...
Jeb, irrelevant and stupid is no way to go through life.
Hey Jeb ... go tell your mommy that we won’t play with you.
Jeb’s wife - isn’t she the one who tried to smuggle tens of thousands of dollars of designer clothes into the country? Yes, a real sterling character.
The name sounds familiar - isn’t he the guy the media tells me I’m excited about as future presidential material?
I heard what he said on the TV, probably edited for CNN’s liking as they were trying to make it sound like he was clearly against Mitt. He made it clear that he cut taxes in Fla but would not sign Norquist’s pledge. Norquist was just looking for tv time. Not really worth anyone getting worked up. He ain’t getting selected for anything.
no more bushes
Is he also for baseline budgeting? The budgeting would not have any real spending cuts.. a sham to fool people.
Why does Jeb Bush get so much air-time?
Revenue increases? You mean raising taxes!
Governor stop the lies!
Why do we need to increase taxes by 1 if we are going to reduce spending by 10? BECAUSE YOU KNOW THIS IS A LIE!
Stop the lies sir.
Washington does not need ANY more revenue, they need 100 times LESS.
Say what?? What happened to Jeb?
Please, no more Bushes, at least for another generation or two.
Just Jeb being Jeb - or perhaps just a Bush being a Bush.
Het Jebbie, ask your father how he made out with his agreement with the Democraps for spending cuts? Where were you when your daddy made his NO-NEW-TAXES pledge?
Tax liberals. They’re the ones who want government spending. They should pay for what they want, just like in the real world.
This guy is eventually going to awaken the BushBots for another go-round. At that point I’ll once again be the great Satan, as I object.
Daddy Bush was CIA through and through.
I was thinking that Jeb was going to be picked as VP. I guess we will see if there is any truth to the rumors that the VP goes to the Bilderberg meetings.
Mitch Daniels was there.
It wouldn't be prudent, Jeb.
I believe Reagan fell for this kind of deal. You CAN’T TRUST THE DEMS!
Read my lips...
That’s fine. Just as long as Jeb is not the veep nominee and is not in any position of power, he can support whatever he wants.
I agree Bill. I voted for him as well, and he was a pretty decent guy as a Governor. However, all the Bush’s are Progressives so the results will always be
the same. Enough with the Bush Dynasty.
Jeb Bush is a scumbag and a coward. This is the same punk who got stared down by a freaking county probate judge and allowed the obscene, month-long, televised state execution (by starvation!) of a disabled woman.
I like George, but Jeb is a loser who should shut up and go away already.
Republicans becoming the tax collectors for the Democrats accomplish exactly one thing, they enable the next round of irresponsible Democrat spending. The promised spending cuts never happen and the deficit or debt never goes down.
How many times will the Lucy Democrats hold the football for the Charlie Brown Republicans before they learn?
I would accept that deal too as long as the tax increases come 2 years after the spending cuts and we can change our minds, just like the democrats did to Reagan with the deal they made with him.
Stay out the Bush’s. No more Bush’s ever. Fn rino faux conservatives.
The fact that he doesn't want this just means that 1) he's politically stupid when it comes to his supposed base (lib panderer), 2) he wants to use the relative "$1" in new taxes to implement social engineering nonsense (another lib favorite), 3) he wants to leave the door open to tax increases (read my lips) to allow raising them even more, or 4) all of the above.
If it's an option at all, it becomes an obvious bargaining chip to "negotiate" with libs - perhaps resulting in $2 or $3 dollars confiscated from tax payers for every $5 or $6 cut, or probably even worse. We all know what spineless fiscal jellyfish most Repubs really are when it comes down to it. Yep, he's just another lib RINO.
Jeb, like his brother is NO conservative.
When I hear talk of him running as V.P. with this Rino horses ass Romney I want to puke.
If that is what he said, then it just shows how little Rebecca Kaplan and her headline writer really know about the issue.
One can raise revenues without raising taxes.
I didn't read the piece, but I am also willing to bet Jeb realizes Demonrats will NEVER follow through with their part of the deal: so the question is really moot.
Jeb remembers how his dad got burned by DICK Gephardt and the other 'rats.
Stop and think!
What he is doing is calling the Dems’ bluff.
“he would accept $10 in spending cuts for every $1 in revenue increases”
A 10 to 1 ratio for spending cuts vs tax increases!!!
He keeps this up he is a shoe-in for RINOmney's VP pick.
“If that is what he said, then it just shows how little Rebecca Kaplan and her headline writer really know about the issue.
One can raise revenues without raising taxes. “
Exactly! You are the first sensible poster on this thread and I am the second one. ;)
Everyone is just so anxiuos to join a circular firing squad that they don’t stop and think, just follow the liberal media slant hook, line, and sinker. What happened to the “thinking conservatives”?
Robert Kennedy , Jeb Bush = two brothers who felt, feel, they were better suited to be President.
Norquist on Jeb: Like father, like son?
Americans for Tax Reform head Grover Norquist is willing to give Jeb Bush a pass for rejecting ATR’s no-new-taxes pledge - up to a point.
...But the longtime anti-tax activist chalked it up to Bush being politically rusty and engaging a hypothetical question he shouldnât have answered.
“When you’re asked a question like, would you take a 10 to 1 deal, that’s like being asked what color unicorn you like,” Norquist said. “He’s not from D.C. Everyone in D.C. has been asked this question and they know the answer is: we don’t need to raise taxes, we need to cut spending.”
Don’t forget Barbara and Laura! The whole family is really liberal. My pet conspiracy theory is that the Bush family consists of Dem moles sent to destroy the Republican Party from within.
It’s probably been stated already, but anyways......”Stay Out ‘da Bushes!”
So it seems that Jeb “Amnesty” Bush learned nothing from his dad, Bush 41, who fell into the Dems’ trap and agreed to raise taxes when told that the Dems would cut spending $3 for every $1 tax increase. ....That’s why 41 only had one term. .......Jeb is a huge RINO like CC the Gov of NJ!
The handwriting is already on the wall from Europe where “conservative” business as usual politicians have imposed a combination of tax increases and spending cuts on their people.
Heck, Pat Toomey’s plan to balance the budget in ten years includes closing “loopholes” in taxes which I would define at tax increases.
So the end game for the Clintons, Bushes and other business as usual politicians will be tax increases and spending cuts to deal with debt.
I want government downsized without tax increases immediately before the inevitable debt collapse.
Maybe its too late anyway????????
