I think others have done a good job of saying why you shouldn’t be depressed. Obama is well below 50% in a state he won last time with 51%. He’s down despite having the MSM being in the tank for him. He’s down despite being so ‘likable.’ He’s down despite visiting the state every other week it seems. He’s down to an opponent that just now officially became the nominee after a bruising primary. He’s down to an opponent the MSM has already tried to tear down with ridiculous, irrelevant side shows.

I’m not sure what history tells us about polling results for incumbent Presidents at this point in the process. I’ve read different things about how undecided voters tend to break.

I’m a pessimist, so I tend to look at the negative. Even so, I’m not depressed about the current polling. I think Romney has a great chance to win. I think he has a chance to turn a few blue states red.

Having said that, I do think that if we had a Republican president right now, his numbers would be significantly worse than Obama’s. If we had a white Democrat President I think his numbers would also be worse (though obviously not as bad as for a Republican). I base this on at least three things; (1) Overwhelming (even more than usual) pro-Obama bias from the MSM, (2) Overwhelming (even more than usual) support/worship from pop culture/entertainment outlets, and (3) whites who suffer from white guilt and can’t bring themselves to admit what a disaster Obama is, and how wrong they were to buy into his bs in the first place.

So for me it’s a mixed bag. I think with identical or similar circumstances a Republican or white Democrat would be doing much worse than Obama. But on the other hand despite all of the pro-Obama bias out there, his numbers still aren’t good. He is vulnerable. He is beatable. And I hope Romney can pull it off.

It is hard not to be, when you see the country falling apart.
As far as my remarks about the Rasmussen poll, I still expected a rather linear decline over the past 12 months, but it just sits there jittering around the minus mid teens.
That tells me that the Commie media is doing their part in
keeping the Obumber propped up.
