As true as this may be, there is one potential unintended consequence: it probably opens the door for Alcee Hastings (corrupt, impeached for bribery, former Federal Judge and all-around race-baiting poverty pimp who is now a Congressman) to ascend to the top Dem spot on the House Intel Committee. Silvestre was elevated into the position specifically to keep Hastings out of it.
