A woman shot and killed her husband because he made an obscene gesture at her, according to police.

Tracey Grissom, 30, from Northport, Alabama, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of her husband Hunter Daniel Grissom, 28.

Sheriff Ted Sexton says the couple had a history of domestic violence.

According to the arrest warrant, Grissom was driving to work when she saw her ex-husband at a boat landing.

She stopped to take a photo of him for litigation related to their divorce.

Sheriff Sexton says several witnesses watched as the man made an obscene gesture and the woman opened fire around 8am yesterday morning.

Authorities say the woman called 911 after using all her ammunition and told them she shot her ex-husband.

A good friend of mine had the nuclear option, child molestation, used against him in his divorce. I don’t believe for a moment that it was true, but the mere fact of the accusation just devastated him. Another friend was physically attacked by his wife during their divorce, trying to provoke him into hitting back. She wanted to be able to claim he was violent.

Both happened to me during my divorce. My ex came at me with her fingernails as I was having the local police escort her out of my home. The attack was witnessed by two uniformed officers.

No arrest was made, no written notes were made of it. When I asked them why they told me "our policy is we don't arrest women for DV." I asked if I could get a written copy of that policy. Sadly, one was not available.

So she’s available then...

Apparently, but one would have to exercise extreme caution around her...

Good points. To many in some areas, this would just be kinky sex, not an assault.

Similar thing happened to a former Tank Platoon Commander friend of mine down in Texas. She wanted to move out of the state in the divorce, and take the kids with her. He would not agree, sued for custody, and won.

Three weeks later, he goes on a business trip, and returns with a Sherriff waiting on his doorstep. In front of the neighbors, he’s hauled off in cuffs on the charge of child rape.

DA’s office interviews the mother, then interview’s the child (7 years old). DA is brought in, and he interviews the kid. He sends the kid to the shrink, who interviews her and they drop the charges on the basis that it was abundantly clear the mother had coached the kid as to what to say.

No marks on the body, no nothing. Just the kid’s accusation. Mom fesses up.

Nothing like a woman scorned.

he was only charged because he was contempt of court for not showing up to his trial and a warrant was out for arrest money talks and he had been dragging out the case for almost two years. Also he did this to her after she had just got out of the hospital and her kids were home and when he left her for dead cause he left the kids there to take care of themselves

So he was indicted but the trial was on hold? Why was he at large if he had been in contempt? Was he out on bail?

>She married him. What does that say about her?

Tough to say. Naive? She grew up in a bad enironment, so he seemed normal compared to her home life? He was just really charming, until he felt he had her locked into marriage?

If I was on the jury, she’d probably walk, if that rape looked legit. No way she could be expected to share custody of a daughter with that dude. If killing him was what it took....

The more you know about women the more you realize, almost any one of them can fall in with a guy like this, if he makes even the most rudimentary effort to hide his deviancy in the beginning, and others think he’s “fun.” It’s just how they’re programmed.

Once they believe they have a relationship with a guy, most all women will only see the best in ther man, and will rationalize every bad act as “not him.” That blind loyalty is either endearing or heartbreaking, depending on how it plays out.

God bless her and her child.
