The School Departments new policy on making condoms available to students ages 12 or over will be subject to discussion at a public hearing Wednesday at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The event, scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., will be held in the Mass Mutual Gallery Room, 1150 West Columbus Ave.
Azell Cavaan, school spokeswoman, said all parents with children in the citys public school system are invited to attend.
The event is being held to get input from people on how the policy will be implemented, Cavaan said.
The event is being co-sponsored by the citys Health and Human Services Department.

School Committee members said it was a very difficult vote, but those in favor said they believe it is in the best interest of the students safety and health, and enhances their opportunity to succeed by avoiding pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases from unprotected sex.

I’ve been to Springfield.I’ve also been to Detroit.I cannot see one bit of difference between the two cities.
Never been to Detroit, but live near Springfield. From pictures are news reports if I had to choose a “better” place, it would be Springfield.
My sister also lives near Springfield and,not long ago,she experienced a pretty serious health issue and,as a result,I took her many times to appointments at Bay State Medical Center. What I saw was pretty grim indeed. And then there's Holyoke!
Springfield is one of the worst cities in Massachusetts - maybe the worst.
Been there more times than I would ever wish. Just horribly sad, depressing and dangerous town.
