In the vast majority of graves lie the remains of kids - eighteen, nineteen, maybe up to twenty-five - who didn’t want to die. And certainly not so far from home.
Nowadays, the kids are too busy watching TV and texting their pals to recall that their way of life was given to them and maintained on the bodies of kids, like themselves, who answered the call.
Pity.
Take a day to reflect on the sacrifice of the kids who aren’t around to play ball, work on the jalopy, listen to the radio, or dream of Betty Sue down the street.
