Oh, no! I like this guy. Quirky, my foot. He speaks the truth. How can this happen?
To: SMGFan
even though he’s brilliant, he sucks at self promotion and not very active at campaigning. Lazy?

Oh, no! I like this guy. Quirky, my foot. He speaks the truth. How can this happen?Get local Tea Partiers taking here in his district off the record and you might here he is more of an Establishment Republican than a Conservative. To be honest, I was even thinking of voting for his opponent as a protest vote. Their is more but not for here...

This looks like sabotage from his own base. If a guy needs 2000 signatures, and 1000 are tossed outoo, that means either his campaign was not doing its job (laziness, fraud) or somebody was deliberately submitting bogus signatures.

You know brilliant minds think alike :-). I posted, then went for a coffee and thought about it, and that concept entered my brain. Maybe even outside forces, SEIU? Unions of other stripes getting their hands on the papers? or just a clerical snafu in Lansing that can be addressed? We will find out Tuesday....

"The only other Republican to file in the 11th District was Kerry Bentivolio, who has run before. MIRS cited GOP sources as saying they are trying to recruit a better-known Republican as a write-in candidate."What do you know about Kerry Bentivolio? Apparently, he's a "Tea Party" candidate, and if the Republican establishment doesn't want him, that would seem to be one thing in his favor!

Is the Michigan Secretary of State a Rat? If so we can be sure that he won't have enough "valid" signatures.
To: Gay State Conservative
Actually we’ve got one of the best Secretaries in the country. She made a name for herself as a county commissioner who took on ACORN fraud and then taking on the fake tea party in 2010. Since then, she’s been purging dead and illegal voters from the voter rolls.

How hard it is to get 3-4000 signatures? Candidates that run statewide in VA have to get 10,000 signatures - and most of them get 15, 20 or 25,000 signatures.
Overwhelming numbers eliminate these problems.

What happened to him?
The Romney effect maybe? I think it played a big part in the removal of Saul Anuzis and Holly Hughes from their republican national committee seats last weekend.
