I recently moved to Texas and although I did get my Voter Card the other day, I have no idea what (or when) the Election(s) is/are about.
In person early voting ends today thus you’ll miss that opp. Tuesday, May 29th is Primary Voting at your normal voting location. In Texas you don’t register by party but rather when you go in to vote you’ll be asked to declare a party in which you wish to cast your primary ballot.
The following will give you a listing of State GOP Primary candidates.

Good luck with your first Texas vote.
I remember those days.
Uuuuhhh, ever hear of “impeachment?”
Uuuuhhh, ever hear of “impeachment?”
Thought as long as I was there I would vote for Presidential nominee. After some thought, since the only two candidates I supported at all, Rick and Newt, dropped out that I might as well vote for Ron Paul, as one of my main issues is to stop sending troops into combat without a Declaration of War as called for in Article 1, Section 8 of our Constitution.
Well, I voted (the early voting facility is within walking distance).
Most of the people on the ballot were totally unknown to me — I voted Cruz based on suggestions on this thread. Just as I never voted for Judges and the like in CA, I demurred here as well.
I am used to there being ballot initiatives even in primaries — L.A. and California almost always combine them into one election.
I found the 4 proposed ballot initiatives interesting.
There is no party registration in Texas. Just go to the precinct and ask to vote in the Republican primary.
How well does that work out in California? We have elected judges here to keep the judiciary from being run by leftist interest groups and the bar association.
Guess I didn’t sound to clear. That’s what I did. They asked me which primary and after a couple of questions from me I told them Republican.
This guy has some great information on his website and on his radio station. You can listen to his webcasts here:

Any recent Texas arrivals, or even not-so-recent, who want to do the one thing that stands for Texan more than any other, and should have the greatest impact on you forever, if you haven’t visited the Alamo, please do!
While in SA, I suggest doing the entire Mission Trail, as it is called.
You will be profoundly affected by that, as well.
(I never made it to the San Jacinto battleground, site of our ultimate victory, and do regret it, but have settled for the San Antonio tour.)
My good friend here said the same thing “go see the Alamo”.
Now I’m getting goosebumps....
The only restrictions you have now is that you can't participate in this year's DemocRAT runoff, you can't be a delegate to the Texas DemocRAT convention, and you can't sign any petition for an independent candidate to appear on the ballot in the general election in November. Two years from now you will be free to participate any party primary you wish. Hopefully by that time, the Texas Voter ID Law will be in effect, and all voters will have to show a photo ID to vote.
Good for your friend. Trust that advice.
There are a few who go there and “don’t get it”. Pity.
They were expecting some kind of modern-day, wow-wow-wow!, touristy experience, is all I could figure. And didn’t really grasp the story of the Alamo and what it stands for, for all time.
If you do, you cannot possibly miss the sensation that the ground is hallowed. The trappings are there, don’t get me wrong, but if you don’t understand what happened and its meaning, the trappings might or might not do it for you.
Goosebumps.
A political aside...this dates me, but so be it. When Hubert Humphrey ran and barely lost to Nixon in 1968, I’ve never forgotten the scene when HHH stood in front of the Alamo and made a political speech against the Republicans. I turned to my mother and said, you know what, he just DESECRATED the Alamo, and I won’t forget it.
To all TEXAS Primary voters: List the top 10 demonstrated positive values for each Candidate for all offices, and vote accordingly.
BTW, let us make this a clothespin-free election!
If you value your vote, then vote your values!
CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Cruz!!!!! I have said earlier that if we could get RINO KBH clone Dewhurst into a run off , he will be toast.
