And that is why I love Nevada. Every year the Nannies try to pass a primary seat belt law and EVERY year it gets shot down.

Sure, they run the propaganda here, but they cant do unannounced checkpoints and they CANT pull you over for just your seatbelt :)

They run the ads here in AZ too, despite the fact that we don't have a primary law, and every year I have to re-convince Mrs. Thinking that no, they still can't pull you over just for no seat belt. I wonder if it would be possible to sue the TV stations or whomever is paying for the ad time for fraud, for saying something they know isn't true. Hmmm......

Virginia the same, secondary offense..(supposedly) can’t pull you over for NOT wearing...but... I notice more and more local jurisdictions have the ‘click it etc roadside signs up’.... not even sure the police put them out and then there is the little ‘seat belt enforcement area’ signs, which again are probably not by the police but....I don’t wear in VA because I don’t have to but I will wear them where required, I don’t need the hassle and waste time for a ticket etc....

Last I had heard, a local ordinance CAN’T override a state law but they can make you ‘uncomfortable’ and waste a lot of your time in the process -

Before VA got ‘smart’, the only way a non CCP holder had to transport a weapon was in full view, which virtually meant that if say the butt or barrell of the gun wasn’t in 100% view, you were carrying concealed, so the only alternative was to carry it where police could see it...of course that meant that all neighboring cars and pedestrians at lights could also see it, resulting in calls etc...

At least now,- in VA - if you are otherwise ‘legal’ to possess, you can carry in your vehicle, concealed....so a step in the right direction. - and with permit, one can carry on school property (at least leave in vehicle legally) and in establishments that serve alcohol -as long as YOU are not consuming alcohol....

Again, steps in the right direction, allowing us to do what we are ‘guaranteed able to do’ but then again we are referring to that pesky constitution....

As ‘muddy’ the 2nd can be interpreted, MY right to bear is a whole lot clearer than my ‘right’ to do 90% of what is claimed by the courts etc
