Pandigital and HP share the same phone number to a room in India or Thailand or somewhere for customer service.

I got a cheapie Pandigital Tablet and what a piece of junk. They replaced it and it took 3 months to get a new one (said 3 weeks in the booklet, but that was a”mistake-should say 4-8 BUSINESS WEEKS!” she told me)

4-8 business WEEKS? That’s a long freakin time. But you can press 3 for HP this, 4 for HP that...

And another collapse coming soon-Capital One just bought all of SEARS credit card accts issued by HSBC.

Hmmmmm....

Vintage HP lasers were bulletproof and would run seemingly forever. I’ve only had one Canon printer and it was fair, it came with my first PC, a Gateway which was a good box. This was the mid 90s.

I have had this RX595 Epson for quite a few years and it runs just like the day it was bought. Other than the once in a while paper jam which happens with all of them, the hardware and software have run near perfect.

It will most likely be the last inkjet when it dies. I plan to get a b/w laser and a color laser to split out for the both of us. 90% of what is printed b/w is good enough. Color I only need every now and then. I also like having something to fall back on in case one of them dies.

I always vote and I always vote candidate, and I’m not beholden to any political Party. I have little respect for most politicians at the national level. My profile has always been the same. Politics is used by politicians, not to improve the nation or provide opportunities but to get themselves reelected, and make us think they are working for us.

That’s what I think, but others are welcome to think what they wish. I don’t laugh at anyone unless they make a joke.

If you're interested in driving anyone at Medtronic nuts (there's no s in the name) - keep calling it Medtronics.

Some of them go visibly insane when you do that... LOL!

Funny, my home of 25 years is about 2 miles from Medtronics and I never realized that. ; )

I never watch PBS either....

I'll just keep driving them nuts while they last at Medtronics.

I watch PBS for certain things, some of it is fun and useful. This old House is worth watching, as are most of the Austin City Limits shows. Danny Gatton, Albert Collins, Them Crooked Vultures... The list goes on and on.

Heck, we pay for it, we might as well get some use out of it!

I survived Carly’s “Some of us won’t be here to complete the journey”. Her carry-over from Lucent was to introduce “forced ranking”, meaning to take whatever organization and tell the managers to fit the total into six sigma. Now by definition you have 10% of your organization in the “unacceptable” performance band. As such you can write into their FPR’s (performance review) the unacceptable rating.

All that’s left is to deny said individual a means to remedy it (no training available, no opportunities without relocation, etc) and you can with a clear conscience move said individual to WFR (work force reduction) status. And the best part is you can repeat this process with the remaining workforce.

Her understudy (I forget her name) did the same thing during her brief tenure as CEO(? or close to it) at Kodak.

Bill and Dave are rolling in their graves. Carly sold off the best part of the business (Test & Measurement), killed RISC microprocessors, and let Compaq take over HP.

I once heard that she had degrees in business and history. Her mission was to make HP’s business history. Once HP surpassed IBM in annual sales they started telling customers how they would deliver services. The arrogance didn’t have its’ anticipated appeal.

At any rate, I’m off to bed now. I am doing well supporting much of the same base as before. The one-on-one relationship is still valued. G’night all.

Make sure all your file sharing/printer sharing is turned on in Windows 7 as well. By default it is all turned off.
