Two men are dead after they allegedly beat up and tried to rob the clerk at a general store on Acorn Hill Road in Hobbsville.
The victim is in the hospital for some pretty serious bruising.
Two men stormed into the general store around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
They put their large guns in the face of the store owner and demanded money.
The clerk was hit with the guns and then kicked repeatedly on the floor.
That’s when police say he was able to grab a gun he had hidden underneath the register and he shot at the suspects.
One was hit in the stomach, his body was found near a red car.
The other ran away, but didn’t get too far; he died just a quarter mile down the road on Acorn Hill.
The sheriff’s office says the two robbers fit the description of a duo that’s been robbing Duck Thrus in the area lately.
They aren’t sure if they’re the same suspects.
Police have not been able to identify either of the robbers or find their getaway car.
What color/race were the suspects?
I’m sure they were just about to turn their lives around before that mean cleark shot them.
I’m glad he was able to defend himself before the thugs grabbed Skittles. If they had been carrying candy as they tried to beat him to death, this would lead to a murder trial.
Ahhhh, I just love happy endings.

Joppa Store is located off Acorn Hill Road in the southeastern corner of Gates County.
“All I can tell you at this point is that two black males entered Joppa Store, both with their faces covered by bandanas, pointed a gun in the face of the store owner and told him they would kill him if he didn’t hand over the money in the cash register,” Webb said.

In the video the journo says that the store clerk shot behind his back blindly and hit one of the robbers in the stomach!

I love a story with a happy ending.
He shot one in the stomach and the other one ran away and died? Is this a case of “two birds with one stone”? What the heck was he shootin? 44 mag?
Its not too often a guy gets shot in the stomach and dies right there before the cops show up. Its even more rare when a second one dies also!

They were probably good kids that were killed only because they were Blacks.
They were just turning their lives around as baggers at a local supermarket.
If EVERY crime victim would do like Mr Ammann then we could use prisons to give a place to live to homeless folks. Oh the money we could save if criminals were dead!

It appears to be Hobbsville, NC, about 8 miles south of the southern border of Virginia.
Come on down to North Carolina and you will find Duck Thru convenience stores all stores over

yep you found photos of the would be robbers in this black on white robbery that turned into a citizen killing the robbers. Now the police are looking for the getaway driver
