RE :”Funny how all the women disappeared instantly when he was no longer running. Odd that they also happened to live in Axelrod’s building. ;)

I was believing him till he admitted that he was paying one of them (while married) yet claimed they were just friends no sex, Oh, and he never told his wife about it.
That was the one he couldn't talk his way out of.

Have we heard from her since? No?

Is there any evidence for any of the allegations? This is all hearsay.

RE :”Is there any evidence for any of the allegations? This is all hearsay.

Cain quit his campaign. He certainly appears to have thought something was there, or his wife did or he would not have quit. In fact a month earlier he was boasting that he wouldn't quit over these,

He couldn't deny paying off that woman if she has physical proof, that one is much easier to prove he paid like copies of checks. That is what triggered his quitting especially when his wife didn't know he was doing it.

sickoflibs said, "Early last year he was asked about his cheating on his wife on a Christian cable show show and he said that he got so caught up in saving the country that he lost his moral bearings. He cheated on his wife to save the country, I actually saw the clip."

GoldenEagles asked: "Did he admit that he had done wrong? And did he ask for forgiveness?"

Sickoflibs responded: "Of course, when he was running for election when it was expedient for HIS purposes, just like he said it was a mistake to be an ally to Pelosi when he needed to for his own purposes. Newt is a used car salesman who sells junkers and claims they are brand new cars. He just ran to sell books."

Now, I admit that the political atmosphere in the country is rife with cynicism. It is flying in ALL directions. And all of us fall prey to it. But we need to ask ourselves, what is the source of it? Are the Angels of Heaven inspiring us to be cynical about a particular person, or is it the agents of the pit, standing at our shoulder, who nudge our minds and feelings in that direction? Indeed for the purpose of magnifying chasms of division all out of proportion?

In every case where a person has obviously sinned, and when the question comes before us, of whether or not that person is to be forgiven, the Lord Christ gave us a clear reference point.

Matthew 18:21 - Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

This is called a Commandment of Christ, and as Christ himself said, those who do not obey the Commandments of Christ, cannot be saved. And so, when a person sins, and he admits wrong doing, and asks for forgiveness, we are on very thin ice indeed if we refuse to forgive the person.

The thinness of this ice is further illustrated by this additional warning given by the Master after he set before us the words of the Lord's prayer, where we are taught to ask God to forgive us, even as we forgive others:

Matthew 6 - 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Having had the "judge not" commandment thrown in my face a few thousand times, I am reluctant to bring it forward here, as sometimes I think that this must be something the Master might want to edit out of scripture, as the enemies of God use it so effectively as both a shield and a spear to drive back the forces of Light from calling them to account for their overt rebellion against God, for which they have never admitted wrongdoing, and never repented, and never asked for forgiveness, and who are dragging our nation into the bottomless pit even as we speak.

However, I think that when it comes to forgiveness, and the importance of forgiveness, and the importance of forgiving others, in every case where a person has admitted wrong doing, and asked for forgiveness according to the requirements of Christ, that this might be a very good place to apply the "Judge Not" commandment. That we are not to stand in judgment of the sincerity of the heart which is asking for forgiveness.

When we continue to judge, in a situation where it is very clear that the "judge not" commandment applies, then we are being further nudged out onto the thin ice.

And this is especially true, because when a person repents in public, and asks for forgiveness in public, as Newt has done, the fact that this is done in public shows that the person has set aside a large amount of pride. And because pride goeth before the fall, the person who can do that, is less likely to fall in the future, because he will have less pride through his participation in the repentance process. Do you see what I am getting at there? Did Bill Clinton ever repent and ask for forgiveness? No. He is still therefore bound by pride and the same momentum of sin. How easy it would have been for him to apologize to the American people for his shenanigans in the very Oval Office, which would have completely popped the balloon of any impeachment effort. But he could not do it. He refused to do it. That is an individual bound by pride.

Moreover, when a person repents and asks for forgiveness, according to the Commandments of Christ, this opens the door for the cleansing power of Christ to enter into the world of that individual, which has the power to sweep the sin momentum away. Here, we can apply the "judge not" commandment again, when it comes to wondering just how much of the sin momentum has been wiped away. We have no way to judge that. Only the behavior of the individual will tell the story.

And so, when a person admits wrong, and asks for forgiveness, we are on very thin ice, if we refuse to extend that forgiveness. And we can ask this question, is it the Angels of Heaven who stand at the shoulder of the soul, nudging the soul further and further out onto the thin ice? Or is it the Agents of Hell itself, who stand at the shoulder of the soul, and nudge that soul further and further out onto that thin ice, gleefully anticipating the day when that ice will break under the feet?

The candidacy of Newt Gingrich, in my view, could be accurately seen as Gift from Heaven, because it provides a reference point for many, who have been nudged out onto the thin ice, that they need to turn back, before they fall in.

Newt fullfilled the law of repentance. Now it is our responsibility to fulfill the law of forgiveness as required by the Lord Christ.

sickoflibs, "Newt?? Heart?? More like Green-grinch. Here is Newts heart"

I would point to my post above, and make the case that a person who can repent in public, is not ruled by pride, but has humility in his heart before God. And that is the kind of leader that this nation needs.

Anyone who could write a book like this, Rediscovering God in America, which amplifies the readers devotion in the direction of God, amplifies the reader's devotion in the direction of our historical American heritage of reliance on Divine Providence, has a heart that is attuned to God. Perhaps not perfectly, but the attunement is there.

God cannot use a prideful heart. But God can use a humble heart. He used the heart of Newt Gingrich to bring forward into the world a solid jewel of devotional value.

sickoflibs, there is no doubt that this represents more of that same nudging onto thin-ice referred to above, "Newt?? Heart?? More like Green-grinch. Here is Newts heart", when you have evidence that God appreciates the heart of Newt Gingrich, and you take a stand that totally trashes that heart. You need to stop in your tracks, decide whether this is wisdom pushing, pushing, pushing you farther and farther out onto the thin ice.

I have a personal story about about Nancy Pelosi.

A couple of years ago, one evening I found myself fully absorbed into an anti-Pelosi frame of mind and feeling, as I am at heart a very devoted Republican, and I had in my mind's eye the most evil character in the Wizard of Oz, whose name I will not repeat, and I was already drafting a statement, in my mind, to fill that out, in a few hundred words or more.

However, the very instant this scenario came to me, I banged my right little toe on the runner of our living room rocking chair, and broke it, not the runner, but my toe, and I was practically immobilized for two weeks, and with great pain. It is amazing how much something like that can hurt.

This happened during a time where my spiritual meditations where being directed towards this truth, that every person on earth is a precious child of God, and infinitely loved in his sight. On my spiritual path, this was one of my "assignments" at the time, to make every effort to keep my attention on that truth.

And so this painful lesson brought me out of the partisan delusion, which was a wave of hatred manipulating my feelings and my mind, yes, pushing me out onto the thin ice, in direct opposition to the truth that God wants us to hold for every child.

And so, whenever I see a picture of Nancy Pelosi, I remember this painful lesson. This is not the devil incarnate, but a precious Child of God, who God would redeem, indeed a child in need of redemption, a child that is being led egregiously astray by the same forces of darkness that I have been referring to.

This is one of the keys to fulfilling the commandment of Christ to love our neighbor. We take the Teaching of the Lord Christ on the Demonic Realm to heart, and look in that direction for the source of the EVIL that people express in their behavior. And I would concur that Nancy Pelosi expresses the force of EVIL in so many ways. But her redemption does not lie in trashing her with hateful thoughts, feelings and words, but lies only in the direction of setting her free from the forces of darkness that have so many chains around her legs, ankles and neck. Promoting the resurgence of Divine Providence in this culture, is actually her only hope for personal redemption.

Hating her, and opposing the destructive direction of the policies she promotes, are two different things.

Hating her, is not only a state of disobedience before an essential commandment of Christ, but only reveals our own ignorance as to the forces of darkness that nudge our own feet onto the thin ice as well. All partisan hatred has its origin in the demonic realm. Along with this partisan hatred comes the demonic realm's spirit of rebellion against Christ himself as the mental-range and behavior of the RomneyZombies so clearly illustrates.

It is possible that I have crossed the line myself in relationship to Romney. If anyone sees where I have crossed this line, I would like to recognize it, so I will have an opportunity to participate in the repentance process myself.

While Willard M. Romney is a child of God, that God our Father would redeem, he has nevertheless not left off of his rebellious ways, which are obviously of an ancient extent, and who serves gladly as a tool, a pawn, of the Dark Side, helping to lead the Republican Pary into a deep shadow of ingorance and rebellion against the laws of God. He must be opposed, and the greatest thing we can do for his soul, is to stop him from doing any further destruction to the Republican Party.

The same goes for Nancy Pelosi, though Nancy Pelosi has no influence in the Republican Party.

As to Newt's photo op with Nancy Pelosi, Christ himself sat down with the criminals and thieves did he not? Why did he do that? It is because of the foregoing principles. These people need contact with the Light for the sake of their own redemption.

And anyway, Newt got a taste of power and status in the Speakership, which is probably one of the most unique experiences that life in America could offer any citizen, an experience only a tiny number of people will ever get to enjoy and savor, and by taking an opportunity to meet with the Speaker of the House Pelosi, he could revisit a bit of that former glory. Who could blame him for that? That he has access to the leadership of this country, even when the leadership is of the opposite party, is a plus, not a minus.

As to the environmental issue that Pelosi and Gingrich agreed on (?) in that meeting, on the scale of priority, that is as far from the top as your foot is from your head.

Newt Gingrich is not an environmental crusader at heart. Sure, he loves our envirnment, and cares about our envirnment, no more, or no less than we all do. We all love trees, clean water, clean air, mountain streams, flying birds, and prancing elk. All of us can be pulled into support for the enviroment at some level. But he is no extremeist on that front. To paint him as an extremist on that front, just because he sat down with Nancy Pelosi on one occassion, and agreed (?) does not make him an environmental extremist who desires to use that issue as a way to control the people. It is not fair, and way overblown, another example of getting nudged out onto the thin ice, not by the Angels of Heaven, but the forces on the opposite side of the fence.

Study the course Newt gave on the Renewal of American Civilization in the 1990's. That is the core identity of Newt Gingrich. There is nothing in there about the environment.

Graewoulf says, "Ron Paul, Santorum and Newt are our best hopes to achieve an OPEN Convention because they have the most Delegates to force the Romney Delegates to approve of an OPEN Convention."

First, thanks for posting your vision of the future. We all need to look into the future for how things can turn out better. And you are giving us a good exercise there. It's helps us all to climb more fully out of the ABO box.

To the above statement I say, OK. So far so good.

Graewoulf says, "Ron Paul, Santorum and Newt were rejected by Primary voters, and would be re-soundly rejected by the voters in the National Election. Thus, their main value is to force an OPEN Convention."

If everything remains as it is today, on that assumption, your statement is correct.

But if things change, if the Power of God can inspire a resurrection of a Newt/Santorum ticket, that would make history. It is something that has never happened before in the history of American politics. That by itself changes the landscape, and will force the American public to take a second look, and will in fact give them the edge over Obama coming out of the NEW gate.

Moreover, if God our Father, in response to our prayers, inspires them to come out of the NEW gate carrying a truly revolutionary banner that speaks to the Saving of America, then they will win a landslide victory over Obama.

To help make this happen I would invite you, Graewoulf, to please join the daily vigil in giving Jim Robinson's prayer every day unto the August 27, 2012 convention.

Let's make history. Let's resurrect the value of our National Motto. If we can do that, the American people will surely pay attention.

p.s. I like Allen West, a lot, but Gingrich and Santorum have paid their dues in terms of service to our country. And that experience matters. West will have his day no doubt. And I hope he does. But not this time around, except perhaps as a vocal surrogate for the Gingrich/Santorum ticket. And of course, make him Secretary of Defense in a Gingrich/Santorum Administration.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, I do keep a copy of Jim’s excellent prayer by my key board and will read it, for a variety of reasons, through November.

Commonly FReepers miss the ideas in my posts, and seem to be more interested in what is the name of the person more so than the idea that I am trying to define. My bad for disliking English classes way back in the Day!

Rep. Allen West and Sen Jim DeMint are merely EXAMPLES of the many fine men who would make excellent Nominee Candidates at an OPEN Convention.

As a Lutheran, I am thoroughly convinced in the Power of God’s Grace. I am also convinced that all of the Republican Primary Candidates have received varying degrees Of God’s Grace.

Some Candidates seem to have changed more than others, possibly due to varying acceptance levels of God’s Grace, and more probably to what I as a VERY subjective observer choose to observe.

Which Candidate would be the best Steward as POTUS?

This Primary has been truly pathetic in dealing with that question!

Now that TEXAS is FINALLY being allowed to vote in the State Primary, I see the best chance to address that question will be in August, in an OPEN Convention.

BTW, one secret to improving the power of Prayer in your life is to LISTEN to God’s response for at least the same length of time that you prayed to God.
