She’s got amazing hearing, as dogs do.

What a hilarious tale about Gerald the cat, and JoAnn the dog. Does JoAnn also have high cheekbones, like all "Indians" (except Elizabeth Warren) do?

Not to turn this into a doggy/kitty thread (although that is not horrible) but the dear old lab, Bubba, simply cannot hear me when I call him over to have his ears doctored or for some like purpose.

But from two rooms away, he can hear me open the container that holds his sticks. I look up and there he is.

What a hilarious tale about Gerald the cat, and JoAnn the dog

I got Gerald from the SPCA as we'd just lost a cat for reasons unknown. We were sad but we keep four cats at all times cause you don't want just one cat is how we figure.

He was a kitten, of course, adorable. I figure how hard can it be, a kitten? Just put a couple extra tidbits in the communal bowl, right?

It's like the ransom of Red Chief. Gerald does not see the world as we expected. It's a Gerald world and the pursuit of food is primary. I got me a squirt bottle just for Gerald.

Our calico, she despises Gerald and gets the vapors whenever he walks by. All she needs is a lace hankie for her howling. She also likes to slap the dog when she walks by, I don't know why. But go with me, the dog weighs about 90 pounds, Lily, about 10.

As for Gerald, well he's just fine with the dog. He comes up and eats her food with her. For the longest time I was batting him away cause, well come on, the dog's never been all that fond of sharing her food with the cats!

But she lets Gerald eat with her, an amazing thing. BUT, JoAnn will share Gerald's puddle of milk and Friskies should she come upon, them's the rules.

I wrap food items in aluminum foil from time to time, a biscuit, piece of cornbread. We get up from nap and there's little tiny bits of alumunim foil from one end of house to other, some crumbs in between.

Every time you pick him up his belly is as big as a basketball and the LITTER PANS! Dear Lord, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost....yesterday I went to BJ's and bought EIGHTY FOUR Pounds of litter!

As much increase in food is as much increase of litter...makes sense.

He loves to be held and purrs your ear off if you pick him up. He looks exactly like Sylvester the Cat.

I tell husband, maybe we're too old for Gerald. Perish the thought.

Besides, we called the SPCA, how much to take him back?

$100,000 they told us.

Heh.
