Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson called for corporate tax reform Wednesday night in a speech to the Florida Council of 100 in Washington. Gov. Rick Scott is scheduled to meet today with the group, which was formed by former Gov. Farris Bryant in 1961 to provide advice on Florida issues from a business perspective.
While not offering specifics, Nelson seemed to suggest an overhaul in which rates would be lowered in exchange for closing loopholes and eliminating tax breaks. He said hes been talking with Republican Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, whos been mentioned as a potential Mitt Romney running mate.

They’ll say or do anything just to get re-elected.
That was Ben Nelson (Neb)....
I'm sure Bill Nelson could have been bribed he his vote was needed...
Of course the bottom line with the professional liars club (Senate) is to watch WHAT they do, not WHAT they say...
Nelson fails on all accounts
People should know the following, even if we take Nelson at his word:
A vote for a democrat, even one who wishes to lower, not raise taxes, will raise taxes!
As long as the Senate remains in democrat control, Nelson’s idea will have a snowball’s chance in Hell.
If enough Republicans are added to the Senate, in sufficient numbers to vote cloture (60), then, and only then, will such an idea likely pass.
This means Nelson has to go. Simply put, he’s a democrat, the party of Tax and Spend. If he doesn’t agree with tax and spend he needs to switch parties.
It’s that simple!
I'm just hoping that Nelson doesn't get all the support from the RNC like he did in his last election.
Since you are paying attention do we like LeMieux or Connie Mack? Anybody but Nelson! ;-)
This is the Nelson who speaks slower than Susan Collins.
But being re-elected is the least of his worries. The Republican Party will again as they did in 2006 under Jeb Bush, support hin covertly if not openly as they did when Katherine Harris was running against him.
