I have NO sympathy for homosexuals!

Homosexuality is a "Mark" of disobedience.
Someone once asked The answer is in the definition of "REPROBATE". And the reason"why" is given in the Bible.

God has a cure for homosexuals.

re: “I have NO sympathy for homosexuals!”

You forget the Word of God which says, “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

The context of that passage is Paul’s teaching that the purpose of the Old Testament law is to show us our sin and our inablilty to save ourselves - in other words we all stand condemned before God because of our sins.

Yes, the Mosaic laws, given by God, in the Old Testament call for the execution of homosexuals, adulterers, murderers, and consistently disobedient children to parental authority because of the seriousness of these types of sins against the holiness of God and stability of the family, the community, and the nation of Israel - and, it is clear that these types of sins are still a threat to society today.

But, what you forget is that Paul was pointing out that none of us can make ourselves holy by attempting to obey the Law - only God’s grace and mercy can do that.

When you say you have “no sympathy for homosexuals”, you would have to say that about ALL who sin - including yourself I might add, unless you think you have no sin.

Remember the woman caught in adultery by the Pharisees (John 8)? According to the Law the woman should have been executed by stoning. The Pharisees were absolutely correct in their interpretation of the scriptures and thus, they thought they could trap Jesus with this situation.

But, what was Jesus’s answer? Was it cold, heartless condemnation of the woman? No, you know the answer as well as I. He replied, “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” Of course all the accusers left because they knew they were sinners as well. He then told the adulterous woman to “go, and sin no more.”

You blaspheme the justice, love, mercy and grace of God when you coyly say, “God has a cure for homosexuals” meaning that He wants us to execute them according to the Leviticus passage. You forget also what Paul said in Romans 2:1-4:

“Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”

In other words - we are all condemned sinners - none of which can by obeying the Mosaic law save ourselves from God’s righteous judgement.

The ONLY cure (the one you forgot to mention) is the grace and mercy of God by the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. Only by placing our faith in Him as our Lord and Savior, which means that we admit our sin and our hopeless condition, and turn away from our sin to faith and obedience to Christ - only by this cure can we be saved.

We need to follow Jesus’s example in Matthew 9:36:

“When He saw the crowds, He had COMPASSION on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

Be careful that you not act like this Pharisee in Jesus’s parable in Luke 18:9-14:

“And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”

Of course no one who does not repent and continues to live a life of sin in disobedience to God will be saved. God will judge these who refuse to repent.

You miss the whole point of Paul’s teaching in Romans 1 - 5. He was building the case that ALL mankind stands condemned before God and none of us can claim “we didn’t know” about God or His moral law - because God has demonstrated His existence and His moral law for all to see.

Paul even points out how Gentiles naturally followed many of God’s moral precepts, though they didn’t know where they originated.

God’s judgement and justice are undeniable - but, so is His mercy and grace through Christ Jesus. Homosexuality is a terrible sin yet All sinners can repent - all sinners can turn away from their sinful life and trust in Christ. He has compassion on all of us - thank God!
