Reminds me of California. When I was in the third grade, I used to walk past a garden that was unfenced and covered with California poppies. The homeowner used to watch me and a few of my classmates going home in the same direction as we walked by, and he told us that it was illegal to pick the poppies, LOL!
Good little Catholic school children, we never picked a one. They really were very pretty.
I was scared to death to pick bluebonnets in Texas, too!
