I’m calling it for Fischer. She’s up by 4% with almost all of Douglas County (Omaha) in and with all of suburban Sarpy County in; Lancaster County (Lincoln) is only half in, but Bruning is barely ahead of Fischer there. A lot of Western Nebraska (Fischer’s strongest area) is still out, including all of Buffalo County. I think that Fischer will win by at least 5%.
Just one week ago, this result would have been unimaginable. This is a huge victory for grassroots conservatives. Hopefully, a bit of this will rub off on Utah, Texas and Florida primary voters.
The Hugh victory also goes to Sarah and her pull who pretty much sealed the deal and open the floodgates for Fischer once she endorse - Sarah Power
Sarah Palin’s endorsement!
Looks like a good call.
AP just called it for Fischer
Fischer sounds like the real deal and has certainly garnered a lot of enthusiasm.
We don’t need another Angle or O’Donnell to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, so I hope Fischer has what it takes to dispatch the old dinosaur Kerrey. And it helps that NE demographics are a far cry from DE and NV’s.
This is second recent major state primary election where rural Nebraska defeated the frontrunner. The last of course was the 2006 Primary for Governor where the incumbent Heineman was considered the underdog against Coach Osborne. The right person won both times.
