Its a terrible thing to watch folks you once respected trying to justify and rationalize something that just cant be. These folks would rather attempt to manipulate reality into something comfortable for them than deal with the brutal facts.

“Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it. “ — you know who...

You and your compatriots are deluding yourselves if you think a socialist will be your savoir. Heh.. the fact that you dont even recognize him for his actions with romneycare and liberal judge appointments is troubling. What even more troubling is that you are able to willingly deceive yourself into completly forgiving the fruits of his labor because of what he is saying now to get elected.

No one said he would be the “Savior.” Did you even read what I posted?

It is clear that Romney governed liberally in Mass. He had to, the legisalture was 85% DNC. Ask some one like Betty Boop who lived here while he was governor.

The Governor in Mass has very little power in appointing Supreme Court Judges in Mass. There’s a committee that oversees the thing which he first must get past, then there is the legislature that held an absolute veto proof majority.

Take a look at the 300 some odd vetoes Romney made...they will tell you something about him too.

If you do not take the time to talk to solid conservatives in Mass who were there under Romney, or really personal;ly take the time and effort to examine for yourself his record, his vetoes, etc. Then plase do not lecture me about manipulating reality, lemmings, or following blindly.

RomneyCare is really MassCare because it is what the people wanted. I believe it would have been far worse without Romney being there...as it is, I don’t agree with it, particularly because of the mandate portion.

But Romney’s influence over what was going to happen there as regards Health Care was not great. He was mainly elected there because of his financial capabilities.

Anyhow, as I said in my last post to you. We are not going to get this back all at once. We are going to have to fight and claw our way back. Romney represents something better than Obbama by far...and something that is running on the issues I pointed you to, despite his actions there in Mass. If we put in a conservative Congress (and notice I didn’t say GOP, and I didn’t for a reason, even though they will be Republicans...they have to be a Tea PArty conservative sort of Republicans), which we have to do in any case, they will hold him to his commitments.

You may disparage that if you will and that is your choice, but try not to be insulting and imagine that those of us trying to get rid of Obama with Romney do not understand the score or the risks involved with it.

There is simply no better alternative right now.
