EXCLUSIVE: Wisconsin Dems furious with DNC for refusing to invest big money in Walker recall

Top Wisconsin Democrats are furious with the national party — and the Democratic National Committee in particular — for refusing their request for a major investment in the battle to recall Scott Walker, I’m told.

The failure to put up the money Wisconsin Dems need to execute their recall plan comes at a time when the national Republican Party is sinking big money into defending Walker, raising fears that the DNC’s reluctance could help tip the race his way.

“We are frustrated by the lack of support from the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Governors Association,” a top Wisconsin Democratic Party official tells me. “Scott Walker has the full support and backing of the Republican Party and all its tentacles. We are not getting similar support.”

“Considering that Scott Walker has already spent $30 million and we’re even in the polls, this is a winnable race,” the Wisconsin Dem continues. “We can get outspent two to one or five to one. We can’t get spent 20 to one.”

According to the Wisconsin Dem, the party has asked the DNC for $500,000 to help with its massive field operation. While the DNC has made generally supportive noises, the money has not been forthcoming, the official says — with less than a month until the June 5th recall election. The DNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

This is red flag that Obama re election is strapped for cash.

A win by Walker would also mean Wisconsin is in play, requiring more resources from "Obama's Stash" in November.

Big time pucker factor being felt in Chicago as we speak.

Thanks for the lesson.

The Big Boss or Bosses are still in charge out here on the left coast.

I don’t know if the RNC has spent anything. Friends of Scott Walker has raised and spent a lot. Club for Growth and Americans for Prosperity have both spent a lot. The Tea Party(ies) have funded ads. It’s easy for the $$$ to add up. This has been going on for a year and a half, and the recall rules are such that Scott can raise unlimited funds. Yay!

BTW, the Republicans have a big advantage here because our force is mostly volunteer. Thousands of hours put in at the Victory Centers and more spent putting up signs. The Dems have to pay for nearly everything they get done. That is why they need the DNC to kick in.

I wonder what it costs to get thugs to slash the tires of the Republican get out the vote vans? Especially when one of the thugs is the son of a Congresswoman? (Gwen Moore)

If the DNC is not sending cash, they know it’s a lost cause.

“This is red flag that Obama re election is strapped for cash.’????

To me it means that the DNC is focussed on keeping the Socialist Autocrat in the white Houae, where he can complete his Fundamental Transformation with an endless series of Executive Orders unhindered by any possibility of opposition, his dream of a unitary state ruled in every detail from the national capital by Executive Fiat. That possibility makes anything that might happen in Wisconsin in re Gov. Walker’s recall very small potatoes.

I’m leery of this information. I don’t trust the dems. I believe they will pour every last cent they have into this recall election. Plus cheat their way all the way through. It will be a dogfight until the end.
