CHICAGO (WLS) - Chicago cops who tried to shut down a noisy party early Saturday were attacked by a Mexican “Ranchera” band which tried to steal one of their guns, prosecutors alleged.

Musicians Federico Villa-Martinez, 35, and Antonio Villa, 43 — brothers who perform together as “Dueto Hermanos Martinez” — both appeared in court in bloodstained clothing Sunday.

Together with Lino Sarabia-Martinez — the 24-year-old boyfriend of Villa’s daughter — they allegedly attacked two officers who were responding to a noise complaint shortly before 3 a.m. at Villa’s home in the Northwest side neighborhood of Hermosa.

Villa-Martinez allegedly punched one officer in the face and threw a full bottle of booze at him, while Villa allegedly grabbed the other officer’s night-stick and beat him over the head with it. Both Villa and Sarabia-Martinez then allegedly tried to grab the second officer’s gun from his holster during a struggle in the alley of the 4700 block of West McLean.

The attack left the second officer in need of 10 staples to a bloody gash on his head, prosecutors said.

All three defendants said they had been drinking, according to a police report. They were ordered held on bail of $100,000 each Sunday by Judge Maria Kuriakos-Ciesel.

All Mexican nationals, they asked that the Mexican consulate be informed of their arrest.
