Are baby-boomers “stealing jobs,” or are they 1)showing up on time 2)consistently 3)with tasks/projects completed on time? Do they 4)have experience and knowledge that the younger set has not yet accumulated? 5)Do they text or do Facebook all day long?

Is it considered “job-stealing” to work to pay your bills and plan your retirement? Or, are baby-boomers being “given the shaft” for being so bold as to exist?

Eggzactly. The over 55 crowd are probably more likely to have learned some useful skilz and have a better work ethic.

Bingo! In the last few years, the elderly have been blamed for everything from the national debt to hang-nails. Death panels have been proposed to keep them from living too long. Most of the baby-boomers think their parents are targeted; it’s really them.

No, it is much more likely that they are the last ones fired due to union rules and age discrimination laws. They are also less likely to have child care problems and multiple family members requiring excessive insurance usage.

Or showing up for interviews in flip flops and tongue piercings? Complaining and calling in sick from playing video games all night?

I think this is ridiculous. I’m a boomer and I was laid off at 51. Most of the people in my “class” had grey hair. And these people were the cream of their workforce, not clock watchers. There were no “young people.” When companies lay-off, they pick the old ones because they cost more...higher salaries, high healthcare costs. And yeah, some companies don’t want to pay them the pension they promised, so they let them go before they reach eligibility age. We all have to face competition for jobs, and the competition is fierce right now. Nobody is stealing anything.

no one is "stealing" jobs....we're retaining our jobs.....and a lot of us don't have glorious jobs nor pensions...a lot of us lost money during the Soros/bamey financial collapse....we have to work....

not to mention, a lot of us are helping our adult kids with their bills....
